Karen Kingsbury Books
Anyone a fan of Christian Fiction author Karen Kingsbury?
I am a huge fan. My mom has her collections and I've been reading them since about February. I loved the Redemption series (where my mom had me start) and now the third series is on hold for me. My mom doesn't want me to read the newest book in the third series until after my baby is born and healthy. So I've picked up some other two book series and some individual books. I have passed on my love for these books to a few others and so I thought I'd start this thread in case there are others out there. If you are a fan, what was your favorite book? What is the next book you are looking forward to? **We shouldn't give too much information on the books themselves and their content in case others want to start reading, don't want to give away the plots and secrets!!**

Anna, I know that the newest book (the one I'm not allowed to read) was a big twist that my mom wasn't expecting. It tore her apart to read it and she decided I couldn't. Well since then my boss and my aunt have read it and they agree, I can't read it until after my baby is born and healthy. It's going to be such a long wait. I don't know if I'll remember the stories leading up to by then! I'm sure I will, those characters definitely stay with you. I am just now reading one of her older books, from 2004, called "Oceans Apart." This year alone I've read her Redemption series, the First Born series, and the available books for the Sunrise series, "A Time to Dance" and "A Time to Embrace" which is a two book series, "Even Now" and "Ever After" another two book series and now I'm on "Oceans Apart!" I don't think I've read this much in my life and I've read all of these books since February. That's 16 books almost! Amazing! Guess that goes to show how much I love her writing.

Yep.
I've read them all. *lol* I honestly can't tell you a favorite, because they are all really good. Nancy Moser is another really good writer...as is Dee Henderson.

When I finish all of Karen's books I may just have to check those two out. Are they Christian fiction as well? I still have the two Tuesday morning books to read and then we found a few more of her single books that neither my mom or I have read. She has the library and we just pass them around. She reads them first, then my boss, then me and then my aunt (that's normally the order anyway).

Hey, ladies
I have read several of her books and have also thoroughly enjoyed them!! Such a better choice than mainstream fiction. The Redemption series is where I started - that's the Baxter family, right?? I need to see if my church library has some of these others you have mentioned. Another lifetime favorite... The Mitford Series by Jan Karon. Any other Father Tim fans out there?????

I LOVE the redemption series, and I would agree...until you've had a healthy baby...I would not read the latest book in the Sunrise series.
The Baxter family just feels like family after reading so many books about them! I also like Nicholas Sparks books. I'm currently reading his latest book, The Choice. Has anyone read the 9/11 series by Karen? I liked those two books as well! I enjoy reading so much - this is a fun thread!

I have read all that have been discussed except the sunrise series. I was kinda getting the same feeling that all the stories were happy go lucky even when things were down. I do like her books though and will probable read the sunrise series someday. I am currently reading everybook I can find on pregnancy.

Well I'm the late bloomer in the gang I guess. I just started reading her books and I'm in love. I've only been reading the 1st book in the redemption series for about 4 day and I'm almost finished, the next one is on standby. I thank my lucky stars that I've started to read these, it has already helped me with so much. I can't even imagine how much the entire series is going to make me a better person. Thanks Jen - Love ya. Oh yeah, great thread. I love to see that we all have something in common, our religion. Hugs!

Stacey, the 9/11 series is next on my list to read. They are the Tuesday morning books. And I guess as someone on the forum who has read the latest book in the Sunrise series and agrees that I shouldn't read it just yet I'll have to let it go! I keep trying to get in there and make my point but my mom won't back down. I have read a couple of Nicholas Sparks books but none since "A Walk to Remember." That was back in High School.
Devan you are welcome. You are going to go through quite a journey in these books and as one who is just starting, definitely be sure to have kleenex with you as you keep going. You fall more and more attached to the family and each individual character and get worked up with their stories and situations. Beautiful.

Jen your mom is absolutely right. Don't start reading that series until after your baby is born.
It's a WONDERFUL series though!!!!!!

I read the first book, I just can't read the second book. Beyond that the other books are still being written so I'm sure by the time they come out I'll be ready!

I finished "Oceans Apart" earlier in the week. My mom is holding onto the 9/11 series for me for some reason. But I'm sure I'll get to them. Instead today I started a new book by a new author (well new to me) named Sally John. She's also Christian Fiction and it too is a really easy read. I did two chapters at lunch and didn't want to stop. This is a book that is part of a series but I don't know how many books there will be in the series. It's called "In A Heartbeat."

Is "In a Heartbeat" a new publication?
