DH is playing sick!!!

DH is playing sick just so he doesn't have to go to my 10yr high school reunion!!!!!!!!! I am so mad!!! This is rediculous! He was fine this morning! So, now his 8 month pregnant wife will be going without him! This is so like him! Something he doesn't really want to do so he is playing sick (because it is a bunch of people he doesn't know), he is so immature sometimes!

You'd think he'd want to go just to make sure you are ok. Hello, it isn't like the past few weeks have been real easy on you. I'm sure you've done plenty of things with and for him that you weren't thrilled to do, where maybe you didn't know many people, but it's what you do in a relationship. It's not always about him or you but the two of you together. I hope he comes out of his "sickness" and goes with you.

Well, looks like he came out of it! Once he heard that I called and left a message for my sister to try to get her to go (my twin) since we paid for two meals he got up and got dressed and is now going. What a doofus! So, now, when my sister gets off work I will be at the reunion and still try to talk her into coming--guess we will see how that goes.

Well, we are back now (spent a little over 3 hours there). My DH is such an a$$ sometimes! When I told him that my sister had texted me saying she and her husband were coming he started the whole "head ache" thing again and I told him to go ahead and go home, they will give me a ride. He left, or so I thought. He ended up in a lounge and never even left the building!!! He said the room we were in was just too loud and smoky--where he was sitting waiting on me was even louder and smokier!!!!!
He really dislikes my sisters husband and looks down on my sister because of a lot of stuff that has happened over the years with them--but that is their marriage and their choices, why does it bother him so much? How can I get him to stop being so disrespectful????? I don't agree with what my sister has put up with but it isn't my place to judge--at all! I just don't get him sometimes.

Unfortunately in-law situations can be rough. I don't approve of 90% of the decisions my in-laws make and I wasn't raised to be that way so I can't tolerate in the same aspect that my husband can, since he was raised in that environment. But we do put our differences aside when necessary. You can't change other people if you are only putting them done and not willing to look at the bigger picture. At least that is what I'm told. While I'm glad he went with you I'm sorry he wasn't supportive and friendly but rather excluded himself at the appropriate time.

I have had the talk with DH that we can't make decisions for others and we can't be the judge on wether they are right or wrong. I just can't understand with his christian upbrining that he is so judgemental about so much--I know his mother taught him that God is the only one with the right to judge!!! I just don't know where he is getting this high and mighty attitude!

I see......this makes it tough. Especially as a Christian, believe me I've been there. I know I have no right to judge but I also don't like to put myself in situations where I feel the decisions of others may impact me. If that makes sense. Like my in-laws like to smoke pot no matter who is around, the kids, the grandbabies, whomever. So I try to limit my involvement in those circumstances and I'll be honest and say that I judge them for it. We don't give them money anymore when they ask because I find it hard to believe that they'll use it for the right things. They always have cigarettes and pot around but my niece and nephew don't always have diapers, that's when they ask us for money. It's rough but as long as you guys continue to talk to each other eventually just enough light will come through to help you make some headway.

We talked about it a bit on the way to my sisters house today (we went over there to meet up with my parents after they got out of church--it is just too exausting for me anymore) about how it was really bothering me how judgemental he is getting about my family and it hurts me. He apoligized but I am sure it will continue after a while. We had to have the whole, "she chose her life and that is the life she will live--period" conversation in the car on the way there. Oh well, I guess we can just keep talking about it and take it to the counselor when we get in next--that will be kinda hard with a newborn!

Oh, and I love the new pic!!!

My DH has always balked about attending social events where he doesn't know anyone. After so many years of that, I finally decided I wasn't going to lose out on opportunities to have fun with my friends, so I go without him! I attended my 10 and 20 year reunion solo (yes, I'm old!) and had a much better time without having to "babysit" him. It was hard at first because I really wanted him to go and revisit a part of my past and meet my old friends. It worked out for the best though. I got to visit around with everyone and leave when I wanted! Sorry to hear that your DH can be a poo too sometimes! Hope you don't let it keep you from enjoying yourself!

I did have fun, although I got tired way earlier than I wanted to but I expected that. I didn't get to talk to as many people as I wanted to but atleast got to say hi to everyone (and explain my "condition" and due date and all that--I even had one offer her latest baby's clothes to me).

I'm glad you guys talked. It is her life and she's the only one that can live it. Your DH can't live it for her and those can't always be so judgmental. Believe me, I know that myself. But it is hard sometimes. I'm glad you had a good time and what an offer for some free baby clothes. I've learned that those gifts are priceless!

Sorry your DH was acting up for your reunion....that is something my dad does...although I don't know if this is the case with your DH but my dad has these problems whenever it is for someone else...whether it be b-days, anniversaries or just celebrations....My DH LOVES going to any social occasion...if it is mine or his....I just went to his 20 year reunion this year and it was fun, I didn't really know many people but it was a nice night out...I wasn't thrilled about going but I sucked it up and had a good time.....

Do you think your DH is just stressing out about the baby???
