Crystal this is too cute. I wish my dogs would wear something like that. My first furbaby will be 6 years old next week (well actually Thanksgiving day). I can't believe how the years pass us by. I also love that you said since you have no skin babies yet. Too funny!
Oh and you should celebrate with some Doggy Ice cream, they do make it. Our Wal-Mart sells it in the ice cream section.

Doggie ice cream??? NO WAY!!! I gotta get me (eh, her) some of that!!! If not, I'll pick up some homemade cookies on the way home from work, and she'll get a peice of whatever we're having for dinner. I'll make sure to treat her to a nice outing in a new forest somewhere this weekend. This is a very special birthday...she should have been dead months ago...we rescued her when she was just a baby, and she spent her first three days with us in the hospital recovering from life-threatening pneumonia...we had to give her shots every day for 6 weeks...and then we had to deal with her disability: she was born with a club foot and overall bum leg that caused her a lot of trouble...if you look really closely at her pic (and count!)...you'll see that leg isn't causing her any more trouble...
She's the sweetest sweetie pupper on the planet!

Beetle is a DOLL!!!! I LOVE the baby picture! So cute! He looks like he is in great shape...probably the first slim doxie I've ever seen, lol! The doxies are sooo sweet. I've met a lot of them and their people on some of the special needs pet boards I chat on...there's some amazing little weenies out there who run like the wind with their wheels!

Crystal, what an amazing story. So glad that she's doing so much better. All three of our animals had a story behind them. We felt proud and honored to be able to help them and shape them to the little individuals they are today. The ice cream is really a treat. If your little one isn't used to cold it's a shock at first but they seem to really enjoy it. A friend of mine actually has birthday parties for each of her furbabies every year and that's how we found out about the ice cream. We normally treat ours with what we know they like best. Except the cat, he seems to car less about being spoiled for a day. I look forward to reading her story when I have more time. Be grateful for each day and know the miracle of her story!

Hey Crystal, thanks for complimenting Beetle! He is moving around proudly with his chin up after listening to all the good words!
heheI hope Jaida had a nice time on her birthday...beetle also loves ice cream but the same ones that we eat... He dotes on strawberry delight, honey choc, and tender coconut...though i take care that he does not eat more than a spoon of it as it might affect his hairs...He has never been fatty as other doxies maybe because he is very selective of his food. He will not touch any other brand of food other than couple of his favourite brands like Royal canine and Propac. Though we sometimes feed him home food too. Its kind of mix and match for him. btw, you can make him obey with his fav chew sticks ![]()

Just remember... no chocolate. Bad, bad, bad for furbabies! Anyway, my Meezer (short for Siamese) is about to celebrate his third birthday. Every birthday is special for him, since he was born with a bad heart (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy-- a fancy word for a condition of the heart that causes the muscles to thicken, and the heart can't pump blood properly) and we found him is our bushes as a tiny, tiny kitten. We think he was abandoned by his mom-- mother cats will sometimes reject kittens that aren't quite right, and we think she picked up on the bad heartbeat. He's been on atenolol every day to keep his heart from racing, and a tiny bit of baby aspirin twice a week to prevent blood clots-- and he is doing extremely well with it. His last echocardiogram shows that the heart muscles have thinned up somewhat, which gives his left ventricle a chance to fill with enough blood, which in turn makes for better oxygenation. He used to pant real bad after playing... now he runs around the house, climbs the walls (literally!), and is a goofy Siamese just as he should be without any panting. So, this little guy is a miracle that God brought into our lives, and may be a sign of other miracles to come along further down the road. Best wishes, Jaida! Love, your pawpals... <3 <3
