Hi ladies, this is so off topic but I had devistating news this weekend.
I have a good friend in Houston that a month after her wedding found out that she had stage 4 inflamitory breast cancer. That was 3.5 years ago. She is the biggest fighter I have ever met. I had to take her to the hospital a few times when her DH was out of town. Not to get graphic but I had to help her get undressed at one point and it is something I will never forget, she had had one breast removed and the treatment was having a bad reaction, I have never seen ( or want to again) anything so heartbreaking or devestating.
Anyway, Angie ( her name) has been fighting this horrible cancer for years and was doing so well. But she has now gone way down hill. They found out that the cancer has spread to her lungs, bones and liver. Now she has pnumonia and in the ICU unit trying to get help breathing so her body can fight the cancer. her DH sent out a heartbreaking e-mail to the friends letting us know what is happening. I hurt for him so much as they do not know how much time Angie has left and he has to be strong. He is only 34 and will be left to pick up the pieces and plan for her funeral. I know that they have her pain under control and she is probably so out of it she does not know where she is or what is going on. I know that is not the way that she wants her last days to be, I know she wants to be at home but there is nothing that can be done. Her birthday is this week and it breaks my heart.
I called them while I was in Houston 2 weeks ago and got her voice mail and had to leave her a message saying I was only in town a short time and would see them next time. I told her about the pregnancy as she has been so supportive of my pregnancies and has hurt with me with the losses as well.... now I am in Seattle and feel helpless. I can not fly back right now, I am buying my house next week and have to be here and the Dr.s are not wanting me to fly again right now.
So long and short of it, please pray for Angie and her DH Colin. I love them both and feel helpless!

I am so sorry to here about your friend. Life is so unfair for such young people to have to go through something like this. Many will be said for Angie. Please keep us posted and remain the good friend you have obviously been to her/family.

Oh Meredith, this is a heart breaking story. I feel for your friend and her husband. They've been battling this their whole marriage. But what a good guy to stick by her and keep everyone updated. They will definitely be on my prayer list. Please keep us posted as you find out more.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you right now lifting up Angie & Colin. God be with them as they are fighting Angie's battle. God comfort them and give them Your peace that passes all understanding. God be specifically with Colin as I am sure he feels helpless, let him know that you are there and his love and care for his wife is priceless. Give Angie the strength to continue to fight this cancer and pneumonia. Be with their friends and family as they suffer and are in pain also. Thank you for the support that meremere has given. Be with her as she sits and wishes she could be there also. God this is one of those parts of your will that is unknowable to the rest of us. But we thank you for your sovereignty.
