My SIL whom I have asked for advice about in the past is in labor. My DH rushed more batteries for my FILs camera to the hospital as we speak. I am so excited to have another little baby in my life but I feel like crying because it can't be me. Darn it, how come this IF stuff has to be so hard to deal with?


Oh well, that's why I have all of you wonderful ladies to chat with.

What a joyous time, so sorry that it comes with sadness too. I have been there. I wouldn't even go and visit my niece in the hospital when she was born until I knew she was healthy because I felt such ill-will towards my sister in law for the way she treated herself, her body and her baby during her pregnancy. So jealous that it wasn't me and there she was doing awful things and had this beautiful and healthy baby. But once I saw her I was hooked and realized that it wasn't fair for me to sulk in my own IF self-pity (as DH and I coined it for us later) when there were others out there who needed us strong and devoted. While I'm sure your SIL was wonderful during her pregnancy it doesn't make it any easier unfortunately. Just hold that baby close, love him/her and let them know that while it may be hard you'll always be there for them.

Ladies, what a mix of emotions I had today! AF came but Parker James was born this morning at 6:21. I'm an aunt again! He was beautiful. My SIL doesn't understand how good she's got it. I wish she would appreciate her two little boys more than she does. I guess it will be my job to spoil them

Your nephews will be able to see just how much you love them and they will have a special bond with their aunt! Love and spoil them and know that your time is coming sweetie!!!
