last night was very sad

so, i was worried about my kitty because he has little bumps all over him. I have a friend at work who has pets, and she said to give him childrens benadryl, that its pretty much the same thing they'd give him at the vet. hes been staying in the workshop with titus, because my dad doesnt want him in the house. i went out to give him the medicine, and i let titus out so he wouldnt be scaring Nemo while i tried to force benadryl done his throat. I knew my brother was leaving for a minute and hed be back, but i let titie out anyway. upon failing to get nemo to take the medicine, i went upstairs to get my husband to help. my brother came upstairs and just said he needed my husband to come outside. we both go downstairs, and he just says "titus is dead"
i thought he was joking, because thats how he is. but he said "i wouldnt joke abut this"

titus had run in front of my brothers truck.
he was gonna be 6 this year.

i just feel like its my fault. i shouldnt have let him out until my brother got home. Titus always chased cars. he would circle them.

im not going to work because of this.

too much to handle now.

I am so sorry to hear about Titus, I know how unbelievably hard that must be for you. I have a dog and a cat and I love them so much, I completely feel your pain. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had to have my cat Minnie put to sleep last year because she was riddled with cancer and was down to 4 lbs. It's so sad to lose a pet.

I am so sorry. I did something very similar this past summer. I had a dog that I knew would run and I didn't get our screen door latched all the way. So when I opened the front door to get her leash and let her out she jumped on the screen door and ran! We had to leave for church and we couldn't get her back in. We just figured she would play and come back and be waiting for us on the porch, but dh's dad called us during church and told us that Jessie was dead. It is horrifying. I hate that anyone would have to go through it, and I struggled for a long time thinking it was my fault. I hope that you will come to terms with it not being your fault.
