Earthquake!!

I know there are some other mid-west girls on here who probably felt the earthquake this morning. I have been scared to death LOL! We are just about 45 minutes from the center of it and really felt some shakin goin on!

The last earthquake the midwest had was in 1987 I guess. I was 5 then, so I don't much remember that one. This one woke me up. My phone fell off the nightstand and I thought my cat was messing with it. When I got up to check it out I felt everything shaking and thought that maybe my heart was beating slow and I had gotten up too fast so my pacemaker had kicked in! Then, a train went by (we live fairly close) so I heard the whistle and thought a tornado was coming. I screamed at dh to wake up and we both just sat in bed and looked dazed at each other-it was quite comical actually!

I reminded dh that we have to check the foundation and plumbing around our house. I did a quick check and I think our front porch is off a little now, but that's all I saw. Geez, what a crazy morning!

I am in Louisville, Ky. and we sure did have some shaken going on this morning. The only major damage being reported is a building downtown partialy colapsed.

Other people are reporting chimney damage, cracks in dry wall other then that just a crazy morning. This just dosen't happen around this area very often.

He's doing pretty good. We have a follow-up appointment this afternoon so we'll see, though I'm pretty sure his hip is not in the right spot.

Seems from what I've been reading it was felt by alot of people!

You know, I couldn't believe it when I read about the earthquake this morning! I live in NE Iowa and yesterday could've sworn I felt a tremor around 1130 am. I even looked at my watch to see if anything would come of it. Then I saw the story today and though I didn't feel the big one this morning, thought back to yesterday.... Pretty strange. I'm glad there aren't major injuries though.

YES!!! I thought it was my cat messing around on the bed. The handles on our dresser and nightstands were rattling and then the windows made a wierd noise too...I thought that was hail! My oldest ds came stomping out of his room with a mean look and said "someone was shaking my bed". My dh told him it was an earthquake. Then the questions starting flowing...not fun at 5:45 in the morning. We quickly turned on the news to see if it was infact an earthquake and it was. It was hard to go back to sleep after that. Crazy!!
