off topic (kind of) - new movie Baby Mama

Just wondering.....

I saw an ad 2x for a new movie today - Baby Mama. It's a story about a career woman who decides she is ready to have a baby, then finds out IF, and goes with a surrogate......
here's a link to learn more:
http://www.babymamamovie.net/

Thought this might be interesting to discuss!
Has anyone else saw the ads or previews?? Your thoughts??

I'll start.....
from what I saw (the 30sec ad), as a couple dealing with IF, it appears to minimize the struggles we are dealing with, and seemed insensitive.

Anyone else?

I saw the preview about a month ago. I don't think it is supposed to be a serious movie. After all it is Tina Fey (Saturday night Live, 30 Rock). It's supposed to be more funny that anything.
I don't think they were trying to educate the public by any means.
I would still go see it for the humor not the overall plot(if there is one)! I really like Tina Fey as an actress, comedian and writer.

I only heard of it now but it looks like it's supposed to just be funny. I don't think it's meant to hurt the feelings of couples but in a funny way show the struggles of singles ttc.

I've seen the ads all over. My initial reaction was like, UGH how insensitive. But then I thought why not laugh about it sometimes. Why not get some humor into it. I don't think they are focusing on educating the public just another comedian looking to get rich off us! lol!

There's a tv show that just started airing with Parker Posey. She is diagnosed with Asherman's Syndrome and has her sister be her surrogate. It's a comedy too. Why aren't there more shows about the real struggles of IF-like all the testing that goes on, IUI, IVF, pressure on your marriage, needles, mood swings, and all the causes of infertility? Why just surrogacy? Like if you have fertility issues, you're only option is to hire a surrogate! Come to think of it, I just saw something on the news about how surrogacy is becoming more popular. Hmmm....
