Yeah! They pulled it off!!! You may see a news report today about protesters scaling the Golden Gate Bridge and unfurling a large banner, "One World. One Dream. Free Tibet." My dh is at this moment circling in a helicopter overhead the bridge getting footage of the protesters and the police, etc. He is in production for his documentary focused on the young generation of Tibetans fighting for freedom from Chinese oppression. The Olympic torch relay has been riddled with protests (not against the Olympics, but against China's human rights violations, specifically treatment of Tibetans). The torch relay was even cut short in Paris today because of protests and it arrives in San Fran Wednesday. There will be massive protests there, with today's Golden Gate banner just the start... I'm so proud of him and all he's doing to give a voice to these people. It's so important that the world know what the Chinese government is doing around the world (Darfur...) and in their own country...
