Debate over a t-shirt

I like going on to celebrity-babies.com and today I saw there was alot of controversey over a t-shirt. A maternity clothing company made a t-shirt for adoptive moms that says "adoption is the new pregnant". I'm not sure how to take that. I have mentioned to hubby many time that we should consider adoption (my best friend is adopted and her story makes me want to give a child a loving nuturingh home too especially a "harder to place" older child). What is your take on it?

I think it is rediculous that people are that worked up over it. I dont get mad when people where shirts (maturnity) that sayd "what happens in Vagas dont Always stay In Vagas" < isnt that underminding the importance and beauty of concieving, but i think it is silly and fun not offensive so why would this be. We miss out on so many things alread when we dont concieve naturaly so why cant we have the simple pleasure of a t-shirt if we are adoptive moms. I think the shirt means, WE MAY HAVE HAD TO ADOPT TO HAVE THIS FAMILY BUT IT IS NEW TIMES AND WOMEN ARENT LOOKED DOWN ON NOW FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO CONCIEVE THEY ARE SIMPLY EQUAL AND JUST AS HAPPY TO SAY I AM A NEW MOM. does that make sense?

I also don't understand what all the fuss is about.... I think it supports adoption awareness which is needed....I would love to be able to afford adoption as well and would not have a problem wearing that shirt....for now - I also can't wait to buy my baby the "IVF Miracle" shirt someday... and when my belly grows I totally intend to wear a shirt that says "FINALLY!"

I don't see why it should be any more offensive that referring to someone as being pregnant on paper when they seriously get into the adoption process. Some people will just get offended by anything.

They have T shirts that say Paper Pregnant. I think they are fabulous. Most people won't even get it. It goes ovet their heads.

As an adoptive parent and an IVF parent I would wear anything that supports both causes. I think it's a cute way to raise awareness. Too bad some people are so closed minded. Some of those people are probably not in a position to even have an opinion as they have no first hand experience.
