overweight, PCOS-like symptoms, unexplained infertility.
Yeah, I'm new here and I don't know exactly what is wrong with me. Call it intuition or family history but I know that I will have a hard time concieving when I am ready. My boyfriend and I have talked about TTC sometime in Jan or Feb once we are financially stable and finally living together.
I don't know if I have PCOS but I have a lot of symptoms; overweight (particularly around the middle, 5'6" and 210lbs), excessive hair growth on neck/chin, upper arms, around the areola, and on the tops of my feet/toes, skin tags around the face and on the neck.. Diabetes runs in the family and my sister was diagnosed in her early 30s. There are a lot of others, but that's just naming a few.
Recently my doctor tested my total testosterone, thyroid and fasting glucose (On CD2). All the tests came out normal. I'm currently doing a two month home test with BBT charting (my decision) and OPKs (doctors recomendation). So far I'm on CD12 of my first month charting so I don't have all the info to look at the big picture but I think I will find that I'm ovulating just fine. My BBT before O has been steady at 97.4. I have a cycle of 26 - 27 days so that is normal but my periods are so light in comparison to my sister and my mother. They both have had heavy periods lasting for a week or more having to wear pads and tampons to avoid leaking, whereas I only bleed for 4 days and could honestly wear 2 ultrathin pads for the entire thing if it weren't for hygene. They both concieved around 21 and had 4 children each and I'm 26 and slightly more sexually active then they were. I have no kids. They have also always complained of lots of clotting whereas I have little to no clotting and the consistancy is thin and watery, often a light red instead of a dark red.
In the past I have had pregnancy scares where I had pregnancy syptoms, was a week to a week and a half late, then had heavy periods (normal flow for everyone else) followed by a regular 26 - 27 day cycle with my normally light flow. I haven't missed a period in 12 years.
I now don't think that I have PCOS but the only thing I can find an explanation for my barely there flow is thin endrometrial lining. I have this gut feeling that I'm fully able to concieve, just have problems with implantation. Could low estrogen and progesterone cause the same symptoms (besides no menstration) that PCOS causes. I can't seem to find out a lot of info on this except that a vaginal ultrasound would determine the mm of my lining. I can't find a medical term for this condition nor can I find syptoms. Can anything else other then thin lining and PCOS present with abnormally light periods, excessive male pattern hair growth, and being overweight? Any information would be appreciated.
