I have been reading about the forums in this section. I too am overweight. I don't have periods and I don't have any kids. The only time I did have periods was on birth control. I was wondering maybe I can go back to the doctor and get tested for pcos. I don't know if it is treatable or not, but I may give it a shot. I am also going to ask if I can get hormone pills to see if those will trigger my periods.

I noticed in your other post that your doctor said everything looked fine doing a sonogram. If it were severs, PCOS could have been detected at that time. BC pills are hormones, are you referring to something along the lines of Clomid? Seek out a specialist before getting further treatment. In the heirarchy of doctors that know about fertility treatments, primary care doctors are low man on the totem pole.

It wouldn't hurt to get checked for PCOS. It's such a funny bird and everyones symptoms are different. Some have cysts, some don't- which is why many are now calling it syndrome X. Some can be overweight, some are thin....the real test is figuring out how your insulin and the rest of your body works together.
