What about something like South Beach Diet where you watch the simple carbs but still eat healthy carbs? That might be something to consider.
A friend of mine, who is not overweight, had some trouble conceiving. She did a special diet where she eliminated simple carbs, sugar, white flour, etc. She wouldn't eat or drink anything cold. She avoided wheat. I'm not sure what the diet was, but I can certainly find out for you.

Maybe follow a diet that a diabetic would follow?
Since when you have PCOS you're like borderline diabetic or you at least might show some insulin resistance, I'm thinking that I would follow a diet low on simple sugars that would spike my blood levels? Maybe go with whole foods? Anybody else with PCOS try that?

Insulin-Resistance diet
Hi there. I bought a book called "The Insulin Resistance Diet" and it works well for me. It follows a regimen of linking and balancing carbs. No matter when you eat a carb, if you accompany it with a protein, your insulin levels will not spike. It also recommends eating 6 small meals a day rather than just 3. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 snacks in between.
The Michael Thurmond 6-week body makeover is a loose version of this program, linking carbs and protein, but it is much more strict because it's designed to produce dramatic results in just 6 weeks. I ate a yam and turkey slices 3 times a day for a snack because I'm not very creative in the kitchen. I got bored quick, but the weight did come off fast. Good luck to you! Becky |

I have PCOS and I've been on South Beach for a month and a half. I was at 198 pounds before and now I'm down to 175. I love the diet. Once you get passed the first two weeks it's smooth sailing!
