that sounds like a lot to lose in 3 months. but stay positive and come here for encouragment. i don't have a specific diet, but here are some things to consider:

are you exercising? the best time to do cardio is in the morning on an empty stomach. (you will burn more fat) also, you need to do 45 min. of cardio 5 times a week to lose that kind of weight. you should add 2-3 resistance training (weights) sessions of about 30 minutes each week.

limit your sugar intake and eat GOOD carbs, not bad ones. for example, switch to whole wheat bread, brown rice and wheat pasta. also, add lots of fruit and veggies to your diet. processed food and fast food is NO GOOD! do not starve yourself though! you should eat 4-5 small meals a day. don't allow yourself to become starving, because then you will be so hungry you will stuff yourself with whatever is the quickest (which seems to always be the worst foods) also, watch what you drink! you would be suprised at how many calories and fat grams are in sodas and juice. try to only drink water. or try crystal light if you get bored with water. only eat red meat about 2 times a week. try to eat chicken and fish daily. try having egg whites for breakfast. good luck. if you have any more questions please let me know! oh, also it is helpful to keep a journal and log in all your workouts and what you eat that day. you will start to see a pattern that on days when you ate good and worked out you felt great physically and mentally and on days that you skipped your workout and ate bad, you feel bad. it helps to bring this to your attention if you write it down. good luck~

Nina,

Your expectations are not realistic. For this reason alone, your diet will fail. The first step in dieting, or as I prefer to call it, lifestyle changing, is setting a realistic goal that is both obtainable and easy to meet.

The average dieter loses approximately one pound per week average, with those numbers being a little higher at the start of your diet and then tapering off towards the end.

If you’re hoping to lose weight, then you’re going to have to make some major lifestyle changes…

Some of the key things you can do:

Exercise for 30 minutes a day
Eat more protein
Portion Control
Find the types of foods that work for you
Identify craving killers (substitutes you can put in place when you’re craving something)

You can’t successfully lose weight and keep it off unless you are committed to making long term lifestyle changes.

I am a post-op Gastric Bypass patient and even in the first three months after surgery, I didn’t lose the kind of weight you’re talking about. If there were an easy, no-effort, non-surgical solution to losing that kind of weight, Gastric Bypass wouldn’t be a multi-billion dollar industry.

Losing weight takes a great deal of effort, dedication and commitment – you CAN lose weight – set a realistic target, exercise 30 minutes a day, eat the right foods, get lots of protein and cut out the soda’s/sweet drinks – and it can be done.

Good luck!

i agree. i didn't want t discourage you, but it would be impossible and DANGEROUS if you lost that much weight that quickly. plus, i noticed that you didn't want to exercise, which will make it even more impossible. it is a lifestyle change, but it is one that YOU CAN MAKE!!! you do need to set realistic goals and work HARD for this. you can do it!

Slow and steady wins the race..........90 pounds in 3 months I agree is very unhealthy for you. Losing weight that quickly can cause you to gain the weight back and some very quickly.

I am not trying to discourage you, however, you need to take care of yourself first. You should not lose more than 2-3 pounds a week, and according to my calculations would take you 7-8 months tops with a sensible diet. (fruits, veggies, fiber, healthy proteins and healthy carbs) and a little excercise .

I hate excercising myself, so just find things you enjoy to keep your body moving and the pounds will just melt away.

8 months is not a long time......considering how long we have all been TTC. I wish you luck and tons of baby.

I know you can do it.

Smile too extreme

It is very dangerous to try and lose 90lbs in 3 months let alone impossible because that would be like losing a pound a day and its unhealthy if you lose more than 3 a week...however, i dont care what diet pills you see on tv etc you are not going to lose weight unless you get up and get at it..excersize is the only way to shed pounds and get fit....my doctor told me i had to lose 60lbs before she would put me on fertility meds because of high blood pressure and obesity...so i got a membership to a gym because i cant stand the heat.."litterally" i only lost 20 but i got fit! and in order to have a healthyt pregnancy and a easier "in some cases" delivery you need to excersize... its the key to a healthy life and not only does it work it makes you feel so much better and i found that it curves my appetite...however i have to disagree with one of the posts it is very important to eat a healthy breakfast before ex. such as wholegrain cereal with skim milk kashi makes alot of whole grain cereals that are good..reason is when you are doing extensive cardio with a empty stomach it can make your sugar drop tremendously, which is not good at all..... but get moving!! you will feel great! you dont have to go to a gym either go to walmart and buy one of those thrown away cardio dvds and start with that...

Just curious, why the need for such a short deadline to loose that much weight?

If your doing it for fertility reasons ...your actually les likely to get pregnant if your looking to loose that much weight that quickly.

That's a major shock to your body and your hormones.

They say something like a 10% weight loss(of your current weight) is best if you want to increase your chances of trying to concieve. So, say your 200LBS that would only be 20lbs...

That is certianly attainable (and healthy) in a 3 month period.

there is no way

I am so sorry to tell you sweetie but there is no way on gods green earth you are going to lose 90lbs in 2 or 3 months... at best you would lose it in a year, but that is with daily excersize and a thousand calorie diet. I wished there were quick fixes, but there is just not.. I suggest the nutrisystem diet.. it is working great for me, but as with any diet you are going to have to excersize if it means walking a hour a day or even 30 min, but the more you excersize the faster the fat burns off.. nutrisystem i guess is kind of costly but its equivenlent to about a month supplies of groceries so it really breaks even.. I wish you luck on your weight loss!!

I agree that 90 lbs in that amount of time is way too much. The only healthy way to lose weight is adjust your diet and exercise. Quick fix pills and plans are bad for your health in total. For exercise, try looking into a gym. My gym offers a Step class (you can burn up to 500 calories in an hour) or a Turbo Kick class (up to 1000 cals/hour).
