insulin resistance

I tried unsuccessfully to conceive for 2 years. Then, coincidentally, I decided to lose some weight. And within a couple of months, I was pregnant.

I suspect I had (have) some degree of insulin resistance, and it was causing me to have difficulty conceiving. When I lost just a little bit of weight, and changed my diet and exercise habits, I got pregnant right away.

I know infertility is very complicated, and I am certainly not suggesting weight loss is a panacea, but I think it worked for me - and perhaps for others with insulin resistance risk factors, it might be worthwhile trying to shed those few extra pounds.

Wow, that's good news, I wasn't aware that losing weight could solve a problem like that. Thanks for the info.
