Urine too diluted to be any good?

Hello. I am new here, and my husband and I are TTC, so I purchased the Clearblue Digital OPK (with the smiley face) for the first time this month.

I've been off the pill for 3 months. My cycle was normal before and immediately went back to a 28 or 29 day cycle right away, along with cervical mucus that made me think I was ovulating.

I started testing on day 10 per the instructions, however, it is day 16, and I only have one test left, and I still don't have the smiley face you are supposed to have!! I did, however, have cervical mucus that would indicate ovulation around day 14 or so (and we got busy anyway!).

I'm wondering if my problem is that I urinate frequently (this has always been me even though I have been checked by doctors and nothing is wrong). Even when I haven't had a ton to drink, I typically urinate once or even twice a night, and my urine is really, really light. (Sorry, TMI!)

Plus, even though the test directions said you can test in the morning (which I've been doing), I've been poking around online, and everyone is saying the morning is the worst time!

I'm wondering if the OPK are just going to make me more frustrated, and I should rely on the old counting days thing.

Or is it possible that with a normal 28 day cycle I still have not had a surge by the end of day 15?

Sorry to be asking such elementary questions, but ALL my friends have used OPK and they all swear by them...but now I'm wondering if they're so great after all.
