Does this sound familiar?

I started to have some EWCM over the last couple days. I tested with an OPK yesterday and today and there was NO SECOND line at all either time.

So my question is...is this normal...either before or after ovulation? Did I already miss my LH surge or could it stil be on it's way?

I thought either way I'd have at least some LH in there...either leading up to ovulation (where it would be getting darker each day) or (some that gets lighter each day) as the LH leaves my body.

So what does it mean if there is absolutely NO second line? But I'm still having EWCM?

I thought it was normal leading up to ovulation. I always tested later in the day. That is what worked for me to have a more noticable positive opk.
Are you and dh trying again??

YES and NO.

We didn't plan on "TRYING" (which for us means going back to our RE and using injectables again...the only that has worked for us in the past) until Logan was 1-2.

We were just hoping and praying that we could get pregnant on our own before having to officially start "trying" again.

I just started back on Metformin to hopefully regulate my period...and Dh is getting ready to leave for a deployment to Iraq for several months. So we weren't really going to "un-officially" start trying until he got back.

But in the mean time I started getting EWCM (which I've only ever got when I've actually ovulated)and thought..."WOW..wouldn't that be AWESOME to actually ovulate on my own and for us to get pregnant on our own...even if it's a bit soon".

I've only ever ovulated once in my life on my own (that I'm aware of) and that was right after my last miscarriage/D&C. I've always heard that your most fertile after a D&C and also after giving birth. So ya, a part of me was hoping for another miracle.

So yes and no. We're "hoping" but we're not "trying" if you know what I mean.

I would say you are ok. I have a lot of days when my OPKs have no second line and I O just fine. I usually have a gradual increase. It will get darker every day (with maybe one with no line in the middle some where) then a positive then it will go back down gradually. I dont really have a certin time during the month that I have no line it could be right before or after O but I have it. Also you can have EWCM and not O right after. I would DTD anyway just in case just keep checking your OPKs to make sure you dont miss the window. I think you are good to go. To be safe try using your OPKs from day 8 until you get a negitive after your positive and temp to make sure you get that thermal shift so you will know you Od. I noticed last month that i had EWCM about three to four days before the OPK came back positive. I always thought that the surge was at the same time as the EWCM but in my case it was later. I would test each day so that you don't miss the window. Hope this helps.
