Positive LH Surge for more than 7 Days

Hello,
I am brand new to this site. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past two years. We are using BBT and OPK's. I purchased an OPK with 20 test sticks as we are unsure exactly when I ovulate because my cycles vary in length. For the past 8 days, the OPK came back positive. Does anyone know what this could mean? It is my understanding the test should only come back positive for 1-2 days as the surge is brief as it tells you you will ovulate within the next 3 days.
Thank you,
Gina

Hi GinaLynn-

Your situation is a bit unheard of to me. The OPK is supposed to give you the two days your LH is surging. I would definately give your Dr a call. Good Luck anyhow

Are you sure you read the opk correctly? You will always have a second line but when the second lines turns as dark or almost as dark it is your positive you will know the difference. My best sample is at 2pm and I hold for at least 3 hours. I got my one day of positives last week at 2 and 6pm.

Call the hotline on the box of opk.'s or your re's office.

All this monitoring can drive us crazy, sorry and good luck.
