My nurse at my RE's office told me to test with an OPK first thing in the morning. I had always heard not to test with first morning urine with OPKs. Does it matter when you test? Is FMU okay like she said or do you think she was mistaken?

I just completed 3 cycles of clomid with IUI and used OPKs to predict ovulation. I was told to eliminate first morning urine then hold off urinating for 2 hours. Between 9a & 11a test for LH surge. I am pretty regular with testing positive day 14. Hope this info helps

I mean LH surge not ovulation

I was always told to take them first thing in the morning when the urine is most potent, just like with the HPTs.

From the research I have done you aren't supposed to take the m with FMU but wait until after 10AM having held your urine for at least 4 hours for the most accurate test results. I would go with what your Dr. office told you and maybe even call back and double check with the instructions to be sure that you are right. Let them know what your test instructions say as well. Doesn't hurt to cover all your bases. GL
