hi everyone. i'm 26 years old, my husband is 27, and we're trying for #1. we've been seriously trying for about 3-4 cycles now. i think i really need encouragment more than anything else.

my best friend told me about dollar tree ovulation predictor kits, so i bought many of them. i read that if you have the dark surge line, it's probably already too late to conceive, while at other times i read that it's the perfect time to conceive. anyone know anything about this? also, has anyone else used the dollar tree opk with accuracy? many people have told me they work just as well (same with the pregnancy tests)--if not better. (imagine that.)

i also had mittelschmerz yesterday evening, so dh and i did the bd. opk detected no surge though. i tend to trust my body's language more than technology.

also, is anyone else ovulating right now? i could use a cb.

WELCOME! You will love it here! I was doing the BD on the dark line day of the OPK. I use it to make sure I hit that day...though around the time I ovulate (CD 13/14) My dh and I BD every other day starting around at least day 10 til 16/17. This so there is always fresh sperm cuz they live at least 48 hours and want dh be able to refill so don't do everyday. Ok, I'm rambling...welcome once again!

It is definitely NOT too late. OPKs will show positive when you get a your LH surge. You get the LH surge 24 to as much as 72 hours before you ovulate. You will want to have sex as much as possible for the day of a positive OPK and 2 to 3 days after. Hope that helps and good luck to you. (Oh also remember the test line has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. They don't work like HPTs a faint line or an almost as dark as line doesn't count.)
