Question

Hi everyone, I started my OPK two days ago. I have been testing once a day. The first two tests were very faint, but todays test is darker but not completely. Does this mean that i've started ovulating? I used the same kit last year but I just can't remember. Should i test again to know for sure or can i just wait and test tomorrow? Please advice.

First, I HIGHLY recommend the digital OPKs. A smiley face is so much easier to read than lines. Personally, I start off testing once a day, but as it gets closer to when I should see my positive I test 2x a day. First morning urine may not show the surge like it will later in the day. I test at about 11am or noon the first time, then around 5 or 6 the second time when I'm testing 2x a day. I'd say wait 4 hours since you last urninated, go out and buy a smiley face test kit, and test again tonight.

From what you are saying, it is very possible you are surging now. The OPKs don't test for ovulation, only the hormone that your body releases which causes the LH surge. The only ways to determine ovulation for sure is an ultrasound, 3 consecutive days of elevated BBT, and CD21 bloodwork.

Good luck and I hope this is your month!!

Infertilitynovice, CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP, I Pray that they cook to the due date. Thanks alot for the advice. Last year I tested with the same kit and it worked for me. Right now am so lost i can't even remember. I will be going to get the digital one in a few. I have an appointment for a second ultrasound and blood work on the 5th which is my birthday. My daughter will be seven months 4 days old.
