Ok, ovulated... questions....help.

How long after 'surge' on ovulation otc test, do you have to get pregnant? The test says 24 to 48 hrs. Is that correct?

Also, how long until you get your period after you ovulate, normally or typically?

Thanks.

Not much help...

My Dr. said that I needed to come in within 12-36 hours after OPK showed LH surge. In my first insemination, my OPK showed a surge on a Saturday night, so I went in for the insemination the next morning.
Went back the next day to see if I had ovulated, but I hadn't so I don't know if the test was wrong or what happened. They said I could still get pregnant because sperm live for 3-5 days inside you, but it ended up not working.
You typically ovulate 12-19 days after your menstrual cycle. (14 days on a regular cycle)

I know that may not be much help, but that's what I experienced. Good luck!

Also remember that you should be trying the three days leading up to O. That will give you the best chance (or so I read).

I was told to try 3 days before and 3 days after, having sex every second day. Egg release timing during ovulation is different for everyone and can be at the start or end or anywhere in-between!!
