I know your day of ovulation can vary every cycle. If OPKs have worked for you before, I would bet the OPK is telling you the right time this month too.

Thanks for your reply, but Im still confused. Usually it just keeps getting darker as the days go by. Thats why I asked about having the orgasm before I tested.

When I used OPKs my light was only dark for a day or two at most then it got much lighter. I wouldn't think the orgasm part would effect anything. Are you taking meds of any kind? If you still have questions I would call your doc. Good luck

The line is there and like yiou said, its usually about 2 days. I have been drunking coffee (a lot more hot water in the body) I used to drink espresso.

One really important thing to note about the OPKs is that by the time your surge is detected in your urine your surge has already started. It takes a few hours for it to "trickle" down and filter through your kidneys. And your surge should last anywhere from 24 to 36 hours, so the fact that you're still seeing a positive OPK result days later is very confusing. Personally, I gave up on the double lined OPKs quickly. I didn't like trying to "read" whether the lines were lighter or darker. I like the smiley face digital ones better. I would recommend using the digital OPKs, start testing when the directions tell you too, and once you see your positive result, don't test again. There's no reason to test after you get your first positive result. You should BD in the days leading up to when you believe you should O and in the days following as well. Sperm can live up to a week, but the egg is only viable for 24 hours.
An orgasm shouldn't having anything to do with your surge since it is a hormone. Good luck ![]()
