Movement Sensors under the mattress?

Has anyone used them? What are your thoughts on them?

We gone one with our baby monitor and I was hoping to get someone's take on them.

Our initial thought was that if Aedyn forgot to breath for 20 seconds the alarm would startle her enough to remind her little body to breath.

I am for them. I know they say there is a lot of False alarms but I would rather a false alarm then no warning.
My son passed away from SIDS/SUDS him being 2 1/2 that probably would have been hard being a big boy like him gets in an out of bed.
But If God blesses me again, My ped. said she would order me one. I know its no way to live. But it has changed me as a parent for life now.
So I say GET ONE.

PS..I hope I didnt get scare you I am sorry if I did. I just am for them and I buy one as a gift for everyone as a baby shower gift too.

A family member is going to get me one. I am not so sure about putting something "extra" in the crib- what I mean by that is I worry about everything and is this completely safe? . I have an appt. tomorrow with my obgyn - I will ask his opinion. I plan on using a bassinet or basket for the first few months - can I put this in there as well?

We have the Angel Care monitor which comes with a movement sensor. The added feeling of security it provides is worth the occassional false alarm in my book. When my son was about 7 months old, the monitor alarmed one night. My heart absolutely stopped as I raced in his room and grabbed him out of the crib. My poor baby was peacefully sleeping and had rolled into the corner of the crib and off the sensor enough for it to alarm. Was I annoyed it had alarmed unnecessarily and scared the living daylights out of us? Absolutely not. As he got bigger, he would roll off of it frequently and we ended up not using it any longer, but for the first 7-9 months, it was terrific.

I definitely plan on using it for my January baby too.

oh you didnt scare me any more than i have already freaked myself out.

we got it with the monitor we bought - from bebesounds.....i believe that the false alarms will be worth it too!

I just havent heard much about it in use, so I wasnt sure if they were worth the hype. but I think at this point, it is worth my peace of mind.

thanks ladies!!!

I Googled movement sensors since I'd never heard of them (don't need to worry about it yet). Amazon.com came up and there are tons of reviews for these sensors. You could get some more opinions there. Sounds like a good idea to me!
