Downsizing Diaper Bag

So, I love my Kate Spade diaper bag but think its time to downsize to something smaller. I am not sure why though it seems like mine is always stuffed with more stuff now, food, shoes, clothes, more than before. Maybe I am just ready for something new. Any suggestions? I must be crazy, I am ready for a new purse too. Tired of my summer Coach! There is an outlet nearby but maybe I need to move on with the Coaches too! Uh, oh!

Girl, I am right with you!! I tried to downsize a few months ago but I always seem to have much much more stuffed in mine. With my oldest, I don't think that we officially grew out of a diaper bag until he was about 3 or so. He took FOREVER to potty train so we had to still lug around the diapers and pull-ups. I don't have a trendy diaper bag. I got mine from BRU. It is really cute though. It looks like a messenger type bag without the flaps (it zips). It is green and camoflague style. I love it. It holds EVERYTHING! I will be intrested to see what other have to say.
Good luck on finding a smaller bag.

I really need something easier to carry; I can put the diaper bag strap over my shoulder but the weight of it never keeps it on my shoulder. I am thinking about converting to a backpack type bag.

Kelli: I will check out that site; thanks!

Blessings, Michelle

The ameribags would be perfect then! Take it from me, they take so much weight off! I don't know how that works but it really is a lot lighter when you put it on your sholder. I have had my purse for years and only switch out for Christmas (I have a purse that has a pic of a cat wrapped up in Christmas lights and it says "Deck The Cat")

I still love my skip hop but we also have a Tommy Hilfiger backpack we use sometimes (mainly to the beach since we can put our stuff in too). I recently bought a new work purse from Nine West at Macy's. They had a 20% off sale.

Kelli: Those AmeriBags are sort of like backpacks eh? I will go back and see how much they cost? Can I get the biggest one?

This is all the stuff I have in diaper bag right now: 5 diapers, mini thing of wipes, a onesie with shorts (in case of an accident), an empty bottle, an empty sippy cup, a small can of formula, a bottle of water, some baby spoons, about 5 jars of different kinds of baby food, a couple teething biscuits, 3-5 small toys, a couple bibs, infant Motrin, a thermometer, Desitin, a snotsucker, I think that about sums it up. Could I fit all that in one of those AmeriBags?

Blessings, Michelle

Get the Baby Bag! It is awesome and you will feel like you aren't really carrying that much when you get it all in there! I promise!

So I think that i didnt actually need to downsize my bag, but get one with longer handles to slip on the handles of the umbrella stroller. So when I bought the new stroller at BRU I bought a bag there. I wanted something trendy! Tired of my black bag! So I bought a Carini Bambini. It is so cute. Long handle, plastic covering on the outside and bright! I wish I could post a pic but they are not on BRU's website. And, the best part it was $19.99. Big difference from my Kate Spade. I am so excited. Boy, the little things in life. Nothing makes you feel better than a new purse, new diaper bag or a new pair of shoes. Uh oh, I am on a shopping spree this week, new stroller, new diaper bag, a purse or shoes would really top it.

The Graco IPO. I came really close to getting the Wendy B! First, I was upset that by going to a different BRU that they didnt have other models than the other BRU. I figured since there were so many on the website that by going to a different store there would be a better selection. They should really say they are only offered online. So that sucked. I wanted to see the Mia Moda and Inglesina. I am glad I didnt go with the Chico because I truly wanted an umbrella type the CHico had so much padding, I thought the little man would be hot when he is napping. I thought the Graco was a bit more sturdy than the Wendy B, not as fashionable. I loved the canopy on the Wendy B but when I realized I can totally move the canopy on the Graco, I felt that was the better choice. I still have not opened the box, so am still considering going back for the Wendy B. I just loved the blue camo and Dylan loved it when I put him in. The sales lady kind of steered me away from it, I guess BRU is dropping all of her line. So, I figured since I am happy with my Graco, I should do another Graco. Downside to this one, is it is 17 lbs. So it is kind of heavy to carry. But how often will I have to worry about that!
Oh, and it was only $80, thought I would spend $150, well still did with everything else I bought.
