Question Finger foods?

The twins just turned 9 months and really perfer feeding themselves to baby food, I asked the ped. at their appt and she said to go ahead and feed them table foods cut small. My question is what are some good finger foods and do you prepare them at the beginning of the week and store them or prepare every meal. I need to make it so the babysitter can feed them at lunch. Thanks!!

We are just starting finger foods and I have been giving Alex: bananas, cheerios, peaches, wheat bread, macaroni noodles, diced carrotts, and Gerber puffs. He has a gagging problem that he is in occupational therapy for so we are a little late in starting & moving very slow with the process. But, he is getting much better & LOVES his big boy food! Good luck with the twins!

I guess I need to ask Caitlin's pediatrician about her gagging. She still gets the food down but usually gags with each thing (unless it is wet or easy to swallow), especially her puffs. She does pretty good with french fries but it takes her forever to eat one with the gagging and coughing (not bad coughing, just her way of moving it in a better position to swallow)! I thought it was just part of the process.
