Self-Fulfilling Prophecy?

From the day Kate was born we called her monkey because she honestly would inch her way up your body when you held her. I am serious that this happened from birth. It was crazy. So, we've been calling her monkey, monk, monks, any variation of the word. Cut to now and she climbs on EVERYTHING. I mean everything. Things I wouldn't even think about she gets up on. I find her on tables, hanging on the fence, and here...............
kclimb1.JPG
kclimb2.JPG
kclimb3.JPG

She's naked because I was trying to change her diaper and get her dressed which is next to impossible. I find that if I let her go for a minute, then grab her again I am successful.

She scares the **** out of me!!!

I know.......I seriously cannot leave her alone for more than a second. We have a ranch style house and I used to be able to be in the kitchen and Gracie would be in the living room (w/in earshot but not sight) for a few minutes and I swear, she wouldn't get into anything. I step out of the room for a couple of seconds and Grace is calling to me......."Mommy, Kate is on the couch! Mommy, Kate is on the table in the playroom!" Ahhhhh!!!!!!!

OMG!!! That is too funny!!!! She does look like a little monkey!! At least you have Grace to keep an eye on her with you have to step away. I have the same thing with Jacob. I hear all the time "mommy, Alex is in daddy's office again". Or "mommy, Alex is playing with the registers again". I sware, our job is never ending...but I love it and won't change it for the world!

Oh, and those pics would be GREAT to show her boyfriends and husband one day.

Oh my goodness, I love these pictures. She definitely is a monkey huh?! We have a friend who has a 3 year old daughter that is the same way. Has been since she could move. She was in a toddler bed by 1 because she's climb in and out of her crib on her own. Scared them to death too. Can you pinch those little butt cheeks for me?! So cute!

That is hilarious!!! And I can empathize, see post from Dr. appt. today~ C and Kate could take Mt. Everest together. She can get to the top of her swing set either via the ladder to the fort or in a hold-your-breath-move, up the side monky bars in the time it takes me to come down the slide from the fort to catch her! She taught her friend Connor how to climb the back of a chair in his den which leads to numerous table tops and pictures last week. I used to laugh at one my good friends who said her youngest was a "climber" b/c I thought it sounded so dumb b/c a. how much could a 1 yo actually climb? and b. don't all kids climb some? That's what I get for laughing. Good luck and keep taking pictures, that is priceless!

That is too funny! Dylan is just like her climbing on the couch, on the recliner, and now on his toy box. We call him the monkey and I cant leave him for a second.

And, what is it with diaper changes? I have the hardest time. He acts like I am hurting him or something. WHat is the big deal?

Futuremom......she has gotten a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious thank God. We usually rescue her before something happens. And, she has the good sense to yell to us when she is on top of something. Like when she gets up on the table in the playroom she'll yell, mama, mama in a tone that I know she is somewhat scared with the situation she has gotten herself into.

You should see my house right now. I seriously cannot get a thing done. Everytime I turn my back in the kitchen, she's up on a chair. I am seriously thinking of getting the pack n play out but a.) she'll scream and b.) I can guarantee she'd stand on whatever is in there or hoist herself up to try and get out.

kcmour- Gracie thought that maybe we should start calling her elephant instead of monkey. I thought that was pretty funny. You should rethink that nickname!

Jen-Cheeks have been pinched!

Glad you guys are enjoying my madness!!
