9 Month Checkup!

Caitlin weighs 16.9lbs (10th percentile) and 28.5 inches long (75th percentile).
I can't believe she is that long!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is getting so big. The np was asking if she is crawling, cruising, saying words, how much she is eating, etc. It was funny, I showed her that Caitlin is walking holding just one hand. She was shocked! It was funny. Her ears and throat look good, her head size jumped up too (her head has always been on the small side), don't remember the % they said. So, we are doing great! I'm just glad we didn't have shots! After her appt we went to stake and shake with grandma and zack (her 2 yr old cousin). She had a blast eating french fries and then ate a jar of peas. I asked if she was eating ok and the np said she is eating great!!! (I didn't know if I should be giving her 3 meals a day yet but with her being so hungry all the time I couldn't help it) I forgot to ask when to start the transition to table food, oh well, I'll just watch her and see when she is ready. So, everything looks great! My little girl is growing up!

Kel, that's a great report. Go Caitlin! I have even played with the thought of giving Ethan a third meal already. He's eating like a pig these days! Three jars of food plus two servings of oatmeal on top of four-six ounce bottles. I called his ped today and she said he was fine, just growing. At 17.5 pounds and almost 27 inches - I'd say so!

Robin: She gets bottles every 3 hours (7-8oz each) and gets three meals, one oatmeal with fruit in the morning, a veggie in the afternoon, and a dinner for supper. I am considering adding a desert in the evening but will probably switch to stage 3 for most of her foods. I feel like she is eating me out of house and home!

Tanja: Doing ok. DH and I fight during almost every phone call. He doesn't like the fact that I don't baby him and agree with him that they lied to him and all that. He signed up knowing that recruiters stretch the facts to get someone in--we had that whole conversation before he went in. But, he is mad because he didn't get to come home and they won't let him change his job in the middle of ait. He is really wearing me thin!

Thanks everyone! I can't believe she is 9 months already!

LOL, I am amazed at how much she eats. But with her growth spirt it makes sense. We have started some table foods but she still has a pretty good gag reflex. She is loving her gerber puffs and if she sees someone with a french fry she MUST have it! I am going to start giving a little more table food but I am terrified of her choaking!!! UGH! I wish there was a manual for all this! Oh, and her 4th tooth came through yesterday so she will be able to bite off pieces of food as soon as those top teeth come down a little more!

Kellie- Alex has a super duper gag reflex too (I think you saw some of my other posts about being in therapy for it). It seems that if he get a piece of food on his tongue, he starts gagging. Sometimes I can swoop it to the side & then he chews it up. But, if I don't get to it quick enough he vomits. I just make sure that when I feed him I use one of those vinyl bibs with a puke pocket in the front !

Lol, I looked at those bibs and decided I would pass at that time, I may need to revisit it! She is doing ok with it, usually does get it down but sometimes she will hold the food in her mouth forever! I just don't know how to go about introducing everything.
