Nothing yet Christine...I'm only on 10mg 4x a day for first four days and then I bump up to 20mg 4x a day. The LC said it could take a week to see anything...

Well, I guess my break from AF had to come to an end at some point...just thought since I'm still pumping and trying to BF that I could delay it but no dice. Got spotting this morning and now experiencing cramps...bummer.

Looks like we are going with daycare; however, yesterday the decision was to go the nanny route. What turned around our decision is that a mom's group email list in my town had an email today about how this woman's nanny quit (not sure she had even started yet) and they are now scrambling to replace her or go to daycare since the mother is going back to work shortly. That would be so stressful for us. Also, the two final references for the nanny that I was actively considering haven't called me back and I fear I will lose the daycare spot as someone else is currently considering such spot too. We decided we will try it and if we don't like it then we will pull him out and line up a nanny. I'm relieved to have made a decision but now I'm going to be anxious if we made the right decision.

I had a playdate today with two other mothers who have kids around Trey's age. It was different from this group because while we now talk about the development of our babies, it is nice here to be able to do it in a setting where people know how wanted these babies were particularly due to our IF struggles. Am I making sense? Guess I need to shut-up now.

Where is everyone?

I am glad you found a solution that will work for you both.

I think that the well is drying up over here. I pumped this morning and barely got 10mL between both breasts.

I'll keep pumping and bf until there is not a single drop left

well ladies - i am going to be a stay at home mom. this for us does come at a price.

DH and I are going to sell the house and see if the air force will give DH orders to another base, preferably the one where my mom lives.

I am really happy about this, however, have some anxiety about making sure we can still provide everything Aedyn needs growing up.

I am still not getting much for breastmilk, and with this I am certain it is not going to get better. I am now barely getting an 1/2 oz per pumping session. This is really frustrating.

Today is my MFM checkup so maybe they can try the domperidone - i will ask.

Hi guys....wonderful thread Charms. Am joining too with my twins. Breastfeeding with twins is another major problem. My babies were on formula from day 1. Since I lost too much blood after my c-sec and my OB described it as hemorrage that affected the milk production I guess. I am pumping very little per feeding session so I have to supplement with formula.

I am also taking fenugreek for almost a week now and see no change in my milk production so far. I am scared to take Reglan after reading the side effects. I guess I will stay more natural and not take any medications. hopefully I can produce something for them for a while.

Christine - sounds like a well-thought out plan and staying home is wonderful. Good luck selling your house and getting the airforce to do what you want (I know that is difficult).

Breastfeeding is so, so difficult. I am only getting 2 to 3 ounces which is not nearly enought for both of them but I am grateful that I am getting that much - if I only had one baby I would be doing fine but then again I probably wouldn't be producing that if there was only one. I have noticed in the last couple of days they have started to leak when one of them cries so maybe things are improving! Varunika, sorry to hear you are having similar problems - a nurse that visited my house yesterday says that she sees lots of twin moms and she has yet to meet one that is able to solely breastfeed twins!

Fossie its really frustrating to breastfeed. I leak a lot but when I use te pump all I get is a max of 2 ounce. I wish I could solely breastfeed my twins.
Fossie, how often do you feed your babies and how much do they take in at a time?

Well, we switched up our schedule on the doctor's advice - we were doing every three hours but now we do 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 11:00 PM, 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Moving to two hours in the afternoons has really helped them sleep a little better at night and the final evening feeding at 11:00 PM is the most they get all night because ours just weren't sleeping at night. My little boy is smaller and spits up more so he is getting about 70ML, she consistently gets 85 or so and the last two days has started getting 90. They finish them pretty much every time but have some trouble when we move to the two hour thing but we are supposed to be getting more calories in them to help them sleep so we don't decrease it for any of those feedings - they are also pretty sleepy during those feedings which makes it more difficult too. I started thinking last night how much easier it would be if I could just breastfeed the night feedings so I decided to try it with dh's help at the 4:00 feeding today and it was a disaster - I can't get either of them to latch on without me holding my breast and if you have one in each arm it is impossible to hold the breast and that means neither one could get a good latch plus I know they wouldn't get enough but I was going to try to do the simultaneous breastfeeding when they are most hungry when they first wake up and then let my dh top them off with a bottle but it didn't work. I did pump after we finished that attempt and got three ounces even after letting her stay on for 10 minutes and him for 10 by themselves so I don't think they really ever got anything.

I am sure you have tried this but first thing in the mornings I get the most, almost 4 ounces sometimes more and it seems to happen after I take a warm shower or use warm compresses, massage my breasts to encourage letdown and drink a big glass of water. After that first pump though I am at about 2-3 ounces too. I think it is just unfortunate that some people don't produce as much as others and keep in mind that if you had only had one baby you would have plenty - or maybe not, how much are yours eating at each feeding?

Christine: I still haven't seen a material change in my milk production. I plan to call the LC today or tomorrow to inquire...she said she rarely sees people not react. Great, once again, I guess I'm in the abnormal bucket. Maybe they need to up my dosage. I will say that I've had no reactions to the medicine. Sorry you had to go to NZ to get it but you can also get it from Canada. I need to get the website from LC of where to get it so I will pass it along.

Trey is doing great but he becomes cranky everyday now around 5 p.m. Not sure why this happens as some days he has plenty of sleep and other days not.

Last night his diaper leaked pee two separate times. Always on his left backside...when I look at the diaper, it looks fine. DH and I can't figure it out...wonder what he is doing in his sleep.

Here are two new pics of Trey...he loves his new swing as the Bobby travel swing never seemed to work correctly.

I also never produced very much milk. I tried the mother's milk tea and fenugreek religiously for about 2-3 weeks and nothing much happened. Caroline really wants to nurse, so I oblige her, even though I know there's not much coming out. She gets a bottle at every feeding. I've managed to wean her off nursing during the daytime hours when I'll be going back to work, and she still nurses 2-3 times in the evening, and once in the early morning (between 3-5am). I've been struggling with how much formula to give her, but I think right now we've settled at 4 oz every 2-2.5 hours. Sometimes she'll take the whole bottle, and sometimes she'll stop around 3 oz. She has her 2-month check up in a week and a half, so we'll see where she's at then.

In the mean time, I think she might have a cold. I started getting a sore throat, runny nose, and itchy eyes on Friday, and definitely thought it was just allergies. Well, then yesterday, Caroline starts sneezing more than usual and sounds very congested in her nose. She's always had a funny little nasal sound ever since she came home, but this sounds worse. We've tried the bulb aspirator and gotten very little out of it...except a pi**ed off baby! I'm going to buy a humidifier today...do you think that will help? I guess I'll call the doc tomorrow and see what they think. I really don't think I have a cold, but it seems strange that she starts showing these symptoms after I feel bad. She had a rotten night of sleep, b/c she was so stuffy. Poor girly...

Well, off to get ready for church! If y'all have any advice on the stuffiness/congestion, I'd love to hear it!

Jen sorry to hear that Caroline might be getting a cold. it could just be allergies also.

CLA - my MFM told me to take 3 tablets 3 times a day of the domperidone....what are you taking right now? Trey is so so so cute!!! he is holding his head up and everything now. What diapers are you using? we are using pampers right now, the huggies leaked up her backside too. and the luvs newborns are slightly larger so when Aedyn is done with all the pampers we have she will have to use the huggies and luvs newborns and then move into the 1's.

we are also off to chruch......today is Aedyn's dedication

Fossie - i only wish i could get 4 oz in one pump! hlepfully the meds will help.

V - how are you holding up?

Well, we are doing every 2 to 3 hours or whenever they demand. Sometimes we feed them and one hour later they are still hungry and the funny thing is they both cry at the same time. And when we try to feed them all they take in is one ounce at that time. My girl is up at night but she is no trouble at all. She will keep on playing with herself and looks at the room and is so quiet. My son is up during day time and he is one of the fussy ones. He wants to be held all the time and cries a lot if I put him in his crib. Both my kids are taking about 75ml. I never breastfeed at night because it is too hard with 2 of them. My boy doesnt want to leave me and my girl falls asleep after 5 minutes. Then I feel guilty for my girl for not taking in enough so I pump and give it to them. Occasionally I breastfeed both of them on demand on top of formula. Not sure if they get anything.

I get about 4 ounce in the morning and then 2 - 3 ounce everytime I pump. It is not enough for both but better than nothing. I try to breastfeed one time and then formula the other time. When I breastfeed them they get hungrier faster..say within 1-1.5 hours since it is easier to digest. (even though if they take 2 ounce) Then I give them 2 ounce of formula within 2 hours.

Sometimes it feels like it is so tough to feed 2 babies. My mom is helping me right now. She is staying with me for another month. I wonder what will happen after that.

Are you planning to go to work soon Fossie?? I promised my boss Nov 1 but am not sure if I can.
