LOL to all the back in the day "throw backs".
Thanks for the well wishes. Well I guess Tristan has to get worse before he gets better, he woke up full of boogies and spent half the night coughing.
What are you all using on them? I am heading to CVS during my break and was thinking of some of that vapor bath stuff. There are alot of meds on the market for kids colds but they all start at 2 y/o and while Tristan is the weight of a 2 y/o I'm still to nervous to give it to him.

I hope all our babies feel better soon (and we all manage NOT to get sick too).

In my opinion, LP is a picky eater. He won't even try something if he doesn't feel like it or if he doesn't like the looks of it. I made pork, broccoli and one of those Knorr pasta side dishes for dinner tonight. I knew the pork and broccoli were not going to go over big at all, so I cut up the broccoli and pork into small pieces and hid them in the pasta. LP just finished gobbling up a big bowl of it. I'm so happy because this is the first time in weeks he hasn't had grilled cheese or chicken nuggets for lunch!

Hope all the babes are feeling better fast!

When we are back to eating I'm gonna try the grilled cheese next, that seems to be a big hit with almost every baby here. I also told hubby we gotta hide food in his food, he thought I lost my mind until I explained it better.

I did end up getting some Benadryl (as per my ped) for Tristan's cold. I'm gonna have one drowsy baby on my hands this weekend. I also got that Vicks plug in vapor stuff and the vapor bath. Lastly I got some sudafed for me just in case.

The Johnson & Johnson Vapor bath is pretty good. I used in Gabe's bath on the 2nd night of stuffy nose and it cleared him right up and helped him and me get some great sleep

Hope Tristan gets better ASAP!!!!!

Oh Girl I know. As his Mommy you just want him to feel better. I always tell Gabe that I wish I could take it from him so he did not have to suffer.

Jessica, the cold medicine I saw at Wal-Mart yesterday is done by weight and then by age. Ethan is too young for it but I wanted to look anyway. For now we are using the vapor bath, vapor rub, gentle vapors in his night light, using the cool mist humidifier and inclining his mattress. We are past a week and he seems to have one good day and then a so/so day and then a bad day and back again. But his ped says he's fine, just a "change in the weather" type cold.

Oh No Poor Ethan too!! All the meds I saw said 2 and over but when I read the height/weight requirement I saw Tristan was well within them but I was worried it would still effect him wrong since his body/immune system is still just 15 months....did that make sense?
You have given me a good idea about elevating his mattress...how did you do it?? I can put a blanket on one end to make it higher. Problem is this kid is everywhere when he sleeps so it might work to elevate his feet lol.

Elsa..I said the same thing last night.

Jess - I hope Tristan feels better soon too along with all our other LOs. I know the baby vicks vapor rub seems to help Aiden a little at night. I'll put it on his chest.

We just got back from the ped. with a double ear infection. Yuck! I took him 3 weeks ago and he had his left ear infected. Went through 10 days of amoxicillan, had a recheck, and then of course the sniffles come right back! We're on antibiotic #2 now.

Anyone have any good snack ideas for a baby that isn't allowed any dairy? Because of the bad reflux the Ped wants us holding out on all dairy. We've done grilled cheese with the soy cheeses and he does like the soy baby yogurts and loves chicken. But, it's tough to figure out easy pick up stuff for him to take with us for lunches. I'm sad he can't have mac n cheese... everyone seems to love that one!

Oh Peachy I hope Aiden feels better soon!!
When I was at CVS I saw these "pasta pickups" by Gerber (I think). I got some with veggies in them for when he is back to eating.

Jess, Ethan is still in his positioner so propping him is easy. We just fold two blankets and put them under his mattress.

I bought some of those chicken ravioli pasta pickups. We tried them yesterday. He was ok with them as far as taste but boy are those things slippery! He was having a hell of a time trying to pick them up!

ah I feel like I definately am not giving much of a variety compared to what eeryone else's babies are eating, I still steam and mash up fresh fruits and veggies, she loves them but will only eat certain ones "finger food style" like peas or bananas, pears she refuses to eat on her own so I end up pureeing them. She loves grill cheese, yogurt and french toast, pretty much anything involving bread, and likes any kind of meat, but will only eat jarred food when it comes to meats, she refuses to eat if I give her pieces of my chicken or whatever it is we're eating. When are you supposed to stop jarred food anyway? I really feel clueless about all of this oh yeah and what kinds of pancakes do you guys make? whole wheat or just plain old pancakes?

Peach: C can't eat them either, or loses interest pretty quickly b/c of the slippery!! What about O's or those kiddie cereal bars, no dairy and she loves them. Or torn up raisin bagels, another favorite around here that is easy, easy to pack and take. The no dairy is hard, we did for a while until one day, wham, she was fine, but it is challenging, good luck!
