What does your LO eat?

Tristan is 15 months and he is a picky eater. The only things he doesn't fight us on is Mac & Cheese and Puffs. He can't live on that stuff only. He isn't interested in baby food much but still takes a bottle of milk when he wakes up, goes down for his naps, and when it's time for bed. He sleeps well (10 hours straight) which leads me to believe he isn't starving but I'm worried he isn't getting enough nutrients. I put the baby food in his bottles anyway to insure he is getting food but

1) What things are you feeding your LOs?
2) Any combos you find they like better than others?

I asked hubby to try regular instant oatmeal today (he didn't) but he ate a few pieces of a hot dog and well as a few bites of my potato at dinner but he usually isn't this cooperative with trying food.

Any tricks you find help with getting your LO to eat?

Ahh Good ole Mac and Cheese. Makenna is on that kick as well. Were grounding up veggies to put in w/ the mac and cheese and she doesn't seem to notice one bit. She is a picky eater as well but we are trying to get her to eat "better"

We did do a beef stew with carrots, corn and celery and she loved it!

The girl will eat anything that has pasta in it so we do the whole wheat pasta with chicken and brocolli and a little dressing as well.

Breakfast she always gets a banana with some type of pancake, waffle or oat meal.

Lunch is where the Mac and Cheese comes in sometimes we will do a fruit, cheese and cubbed ham.

She likes crackers but not bread (weird) so we do sloppy jo's over whole wheat crackers as well.

The last thing we do and I have no idea if it's acceptable but at least this way I know she is getting some sort of veggie/fruit serving. But we do the 1/2 v 8 fusion and 1/2 water in a sippy cup twice a day and she does a healthy snack such as yorgurt or fruit.

Joshie isn't too picky, but towards the end of the day if I don't think he ate enough or ate enough good stuff, then I add Carnation Instant Breakfast to his bedtime bottle. It is chock full of vitamins etc. Oh, and we use the sugar free kind. He loves the different flavors...chocolate, strawberry, French vanilla.

Blessings, Michelle

Someone else asked the same question about toddlers and what they eat...I can't remember who that was (maybe Boston-Jill??).

Here are some of the things that Alex eats:
grilled cheese, blueberries, oatmeal, dried cereals (kix, honeycombs, cheerios etc.), puffs, chicken, rice, sometimes shredded cheese, mac and cheese, potato and potato salad, chicken dogs (like a hot dog but made with chicken), goldfish, applesauce, pizza (cut up of course), sometimes eggs, pancakes, waffles, popcicles, ground up hamburger meat (or turkey) with cheese and cut up tortilla (his version of a taco)...

Thank you ladies for all the suggestions. I like the "taco" one since we eat those often too. I told hubby to try some different things today with him so I'll find out how it goes when I get home. Fortunately I am home early enough for lunch so I can try to make different things too to try. We are trying to go low carb now.

My girl is three and is just starting now to venture out of the white food group, pasta, rice, toast, cheerios, cookies, oatmeal, milk. Be patient and give him what he prefers but keep offering other foods like veggies and fruits and meat....He'll eventually come around. Have you thought about cutting out his daytime bottles and just giving him one in the morning and one at bedtime? Maybe he's just not hungry if he's filling up on milk...

Easier to list, so here you go:

grapes
blueberries
strawberries
bananas
Dole (or whomever) fruit cups, especially pears and tropical fruit
rice cheese
grilled cheese
Knorr pasta or rice side dishes + veggies (I'll also make some frozen veggies and throw them in here for an extra serving of veggies)
peas
corn
carrots (frozen diced version - doesn't like thme otherwise)
chicken nuggets
sausages
waffles
pancakes (when he's in the mood)
hot dogs
graham cracker sticks
nutrigrain cereal bars
goldfish or the like crackers
some dried cereals (honeycomb is the latest, cheerios, kix)
applesauce

I feel like there should be more, but this is all I can think of. It looks like MaggieMoo and I can trade kids without a problem!!

WOW!!! I should come over for dinner somtime AM and Elsa! Those are some great suggestions guys. Tonight we're having home made chicken nuggets so I will be trying that with him.
Bunni...I have thought maybe he is getting too much milk but I worry about not getting vitamins if he doesn't eat that day. I know I should be cutting out the bottle too.
Did I mention Tristan only has 6 teeth. 4 on top 2 on the bottom.

How many do yours have??

Alex has had 8 teeth since he was about 9 mos. I gave him grilled cheese a few days ago and he LOVED it. We're still working on his gagging problem, so I have to cut everything into itsy bitsy pieces! Oh yeah....he loves pizza too (gets that from his momma!)

Wow, I wish Dylan ate better. He is very picky. I think he is like my dh though and has some allergies to cheese, dairy, etc. Talked to the peds this am and am going to cut all dairy out for a week. OMG what will he eat, he is picky, does not like fresh fruit at all or green beens.

He eats

peas
pancakes
waffles
ravioli
pasta
puffs
crackers of all sorts
gerber meat sticks, loves these
and CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE

I feel guilty in this dept and wish he would eat better. DH tells me he eats too much stuff with preservatives. I did find at Target frozen disney mickey and winnie the pooh raviolis that are preservative free. I guess in time he will eat better.

We're going to Elsa's house for dinner!

How could I forget - LP also eats Penne Vodka and Penne in Wine Sauce when we are out in a restuarant! Little snob, lol. Also, he loves to have the solids out of soup - like I make chicken noodle or vegetable soup and scoop the pasta and veggies out and he gobbles them up.

LP had 6 teeth until he was 15 months, then he got 2 more on the bottom, and he just got his molars in last month. They don't need teeth to chew. We just break everything up into managable size pieces.
