whole milk?

Hey everyone, its been awhile unfortunately, I went back to work and have been going non stop ever since. Thanks for all of your advice about daycare, it took Teagan a few days but she loves it there now and waves goodbye with a smile every morning it really DOES get easier! (oh yeah and I've stopped crying every morning at work too hahaha!) Anyway Teagan had her 1 year exam today so we got the go ahead for whole milk, I forgot to ask though, how many oz a day should she be getting? she drinks 16 oz of formula now should it be the same for milk? Also what's everyone's feedig schedule for their 1 year olds. Right now she has a bottle first thing then breakfast, lunch and a bottle, another bottle late afternoon, dinner then a bed time bottle (all 4oz each) but the past week she hasn't wanted her night bottle so I'm thinking of rearranging her schedule, Just curious about what everyone else did/was doing. thanks in advance, I can't believe how big all of our babies are getting!
PS-Teagan took her first steps on her birthday!
PPS-I think we're going ahead with the FET the next time af comes, which should be a some point toward the end of November!

Sounds like she is doing great! I don't know about the milk or scheduling but I am curious about that too with Caitlin's b-day coming up. We are still on quite a bit of baby food due to gagging problems but I know she is still drinking a lot of formula a day.

KPXC ~ Good luck in your FET, I hope baby number two comes soon!

We haven't gotten the OK for Milk yet, Avery turns 1 in Oct. (On Halloween) ~
However ~ her schedule is similar to yours BUT we don't do a bottle in the morning (she wasn't to thrilled to eat breakfast, so I cut that out. Then she does a 8oz bottle at nap time, and lunch at 12:00 with another bottle before nap time at 1:30 (again 8oz), and dinner and a bottle at night (again 8oz). She is 20lbs so she is a big one!
I don't know if that helps at all, but as far as transition, I know with my DS we did half and half at first and then started to transition that way?

My SIL still buys that toddler forumla and her daughter will be 3 in Jan 2009. I think if your baby isn't a good eater that might be a good idea, but I know Avery won't have that problem (she eats EVERYTHING)....
Good luck and again I will be thinking about you and your FET!

I kept Lorelei on formula until eighteen months as she is a very picky eater. By then she was down to two bottles a day, eight oz in the morning and eight before bed. Then we switched to whole milk and only now at age three have gone to 2%.

Hi kpxc....nice to hear from you. If I remember correctly, I think 16 oz. is the recommended amount of whole milk for a 1 yr old, but maybe check with the Dr. on that. That is great that Teagan took her 1st steps on her 1st b-day!!!! Good luck with the FET!!! We'll all be praying for you!

Hey ladies thanks for the input, I talked to the dr today and he said 16-24 oz of milk is fine, since she's not really wanting her morning bottle I think I'm, going to cut that one out and give her 3 a day with 6 oz instead of 4 so hopefully that will work out. Kellie what kind of sippys are you using? I've been switching it up between the nuby ones and then the ones with a hard spout, she really doesn't care too much about using the actual bottle so I think that'll be completely out soon too. I think the hardest thing this past year has been figuring out food! What to eat, when, how much and it always changes I can't keep up! I'm so glad to get off formula though we have one can left so I can't wait! Anyway I'm off to pack, we have a wedding this weekend in DC so no work tomorrow and finally a weekend away together! (Maybe I won't need an FET after this weekend hahahaha)

thanks again for the advice!

We use the soft nipple made by Nubi and also some with a hard nipple made by Playtex I think. I have to use the sippy cups with the screw on tops. We got some with the tops that just put on and the girls will throw those down and out comes all of the contents.

I feel like we are soo behind!!! Caitlin still has up to 6 bottles a day!!! (6-8 oz) And, some days she just doesn't want food so she ends up with atleast 2 10oz feedings. UGH! I wish she didn't have this gag problem--she would probably be on table food by now! Oh, and she is 18lbs now and 29 inches long.
