I am bottle feeding Madison Breast milk. She is 2 weeks 3 days. She had been eating 3 1/2 oz but then would want another once an hour later. So the past two feedings I gave her 4 oz. and she seems content. She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz when she was born and left the hospital at 6 lbs. 5 oz. At her 1 week appointment she weighed 7 lbs 1 oz. Am I over feeding her????

Babies will tell you when they are full. If she is taking the 4oz and not spitting up or uncomfortable then she should be fine. If it continues and you get too worried talk to her pediatrician. I can't think of anything negative about it!!!!! Maybe a growth spirt?

I agree with Kelli. If she was full she wouldn't take more. Tristan was on 4oz every 2 hours but it's was what he needed/wanted. You can talk to your ped if you are concerned but rest assure if you were over feeding her she would be spitting up a lot.

Not at all - sounds perfect. They will let you know what they need/want and the weight gain is great.

sounds like she is a growing little girl.

i am not sure how much aedyn weighs now, but we can barely get her to eat 2 oz every 3 hours.....however, today - she has had 3 oz two times.....2 oz and then another oz in an hour.

i think she is still trying to fill her tummy, since she has so much gas, once she gets it out, she can eat again.

i would think that she is almost 7.5 lbs - well know in a few more wks at her next appt.

i don't think you can really over feed your baby. when they are done they'll turn away from the bottle or get fussy. sounds like she is just a hungry, growing girl!
