C-section belly

So I was just wondering for all of you moms out there who've had c-sections, does your belly ever go back to normal? I mean I never had a six pack but I ran competitvely for years and have always been in pretty good shape. I lost all my baby weight but I'm now left with this belly bulge. It's not like lose hanging skin, its almost as if when they did my c-section and sewed me up the fat on my belly got pushed to one spot so I now have this bulge under my belly button. I know its wierd to describe so hopefully you know what I mean. Is this normal though? Will it ever go back? In the long run I realize this isn't that big of a deal and it was totally worth it to have my Teagan but I'm just curious if this is a c-section thing or just a me being out of shape thing. Thanks and sorry for the wierd post hahaha.

I had a c-section more then 10 years ago and 7 months after I was back in shape......I was 170 pounds and went back to 115.....you just need to keep a very strict diet, always keep your belly tight and stay active......it worked for me but again I have a very fast metabolism.
Good luck!

I've lost all of my weight too and still have the c-section bulge so I totally understand what you are saying. I have another friend who has been tiny her entire life and even a professional gymnast at one point and she can't get rid of her c-section bulge either. I think it's really tough. Plus, I'm blaming it partially on age. It's one thing to bounce right back in your early 20's but boy is it tough in your 30's!! Gone are the days of eating pasta and pizza daily

I have had 2 c-sections and, while my belly was never a 6 pack, it was always pretty flat. Not anymore. I was 5 lbs less than pre pregnancy weight both times and am now at my lowest weight in years (109 lbs) and my belly is so flabby. Granted, I don't work out but I have great genes when it comes to weight. I am actually going to try to start strengthening my belly to see what happens but part of me thinks nothing is going to go back to where it was before the kids. Things have definitely shifted!!

I have been working on mine for months and months and while I am getting the rest of my body in shape that darn pouch isn't going anywhere! I love when I get dressed and the thing hangs over my pants. I'm trying to talk DH into a mommy makeover and while he is on board for new boobs he wants me to work harder on the tummy!

It has been eight months for me after my C-section but my belly bulge is not going anywhere...huh...i was actively exercising and doing power yoga and heard that it goes away with time but i don't think it would be absolutely flat like before. All my dresses have gone for a toss and i keep on looking out for clothes that can shield the ugly belly!

Hey Karen-
I have exactly what you are talking about too! I have been running and eating right but it is just loose skin for me. I am able to fit into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes but I have a little sack there that just won't go away. I have been told it is just loose skin left over from having the twins. So, I guess surgery will be the only fix. I am trying to convince my hubby to get me a mommy makeover... maybe for my 40th bday??? You can't tell it when I where clothes and everyone says that I am too skinny, but as soon as the clothes come off and I lean over, there it is! Yuck!

I am definitely on board for the "Mommy Makeover!" Dh always used to say no way to any kind of surgery and the other day I was *****ing about my belly and he said that if it didn't get better we could talk about a tummy tuck - I should have been happy that I might be able to get it but I was a little miffed because obviously he sees the need too! We are going to wait to make sure no more children come along to stretch it back out but I think that with twins the pooch is pretty much inevitable and not going anywhere anytime soon - especially with the amount of time I can devote to getting rid of it, which is none!

I wish I had the guts to get a tummy tuck because I'd do it in a second. Everyone says how great I look and how skinny I am but they don't see me naked or bending over with my gut hanging over my pants! I like to call myself skinny fat!

After three c-sections, losing all my pregnancy weight but 3 pounds, and exercising daily.....I still have the bulge too. Like some of the others, I have opted for the mommy makeover, but had decided on that while early into my pregnancy. The surgeon told me that getting the breast augmentation will help pull some of the belly bulge flat....though I am still getting the tummy tuck too! Best of luck!

thank you all so much, I feel so much better about my belly bulge knowing that its happened to other people, I wonder if its a c-section thing or just a pregnancy thing. I would love one day to get a tummy tuck but I don't see that happening any time soon! I guess I'll just keep up with the crunches and sucking in! I did get a pair of those undies that go up to your armpits for a wedding I was in a few months back, they did make the dress look nicer but my husband didn't find them too attractive! Its good to know we're in this together, bellies and all!
