I just dont get it why are total strangers so clueless. Why must they touch a baby? Especially there hands! Why? Who are you you complete stranger!! I am going to have dd make a cute sign with rainbows and stars that says "Dont touch the baby, My mom owns guns" ( I am retired NYPD Det) LOL...I think I am losing it, Lack of sleep..LOL

Blaine is only 5 days old and he has been to the peds, grocery store, and a dr. appt for me. I just don't let anyone touch him or linger over him in his carrier. He doesn't need to breath in there air.
Birth control...well my tubes are tied and I would recommend never going down that road even if you think you are sure. It was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.
Sex- I will wait until the Dr. gives the okay...Maybe. It has been almost an entire year..with one exception. Blaine was absolutely worth the wait and we were to nervous to even attempt it but, I would like for that intimacy to be returned as quickly as possible.

ASFM: I am Deanna, mother of four teenagers (two girls and two boys) and a newborn son, Blaine born April 4th.

How's everyone doing this weekend?

We made our first trip out yesterday and went to a department store. It was so good to get out and do a little shopping! Grace and Jacob were so good too! They slept the entire time. It's funny pushing a double stroller around with their car seats attached to it. I feel like we have a baby train!

Wow you are my idol, I couldnt even imagine going out by myself. I cant wait until I am able too. I live less than 5 mins from my mall. I think I would freak if someone went to touch them.

I'm not that good! My mom went with me. No way would I have attempted to go by myself! I was so worried people would want to touch them, but I didn't have any issues. We even ran into some people we knew and they restrained themselves.

Hi everyone! Congratulations to all the new mommies! I can't wait to join you guys. I've bookmarked this forum so as soon as our little guy shows up, I can formally join the group!!!!

Our c-section is scheduled for April 20th when I'll be 39w1d. I hope he holds tight until then as I'd like to give him as much time on the inside as possible.

I haven't had anyone try to touch James, but along the lines of clueless strangers that I wanted to cream, I had to share:

I took James to his first pediatric appt last week and shared an elevator with one of my HMO's parking attendants. He asked how old James was and I told him about 10 days. Then he pointed in horror at my still distended belly and said, "And you're having another one already?" I said, "No, no." He still stares at my belly and says, "So he is having a twin and they left him in there?"

I finally told him the belly takes a while to go down. He looked so incredulous. It was not a great moment for my self esteem, but at least the belly has gone down! I can't believe he said that.

Hi all! My name is Audra. I have two living sons ages 5 and 7 and one son who passed away shortly after birth (he would be 2 now). I just gave birth on April 3 to my daughter Emma.

As far as the miracle blanket goes - we have 2 and *love* them (and thankfully so does Emma LOL).

As far as clueless goes, our cleaning lady came on Friday and she clearly had a cold. Stupid me I thought she'd stay away from the 1 week old. She didn't - touched her several times before I could do anything. She's so sweet and I really didn't want to hurt her feelings - I just kind of spirited Emma away and then cleaned her off. My sister was there and was freaking out - paranoid since her nephew's death (as am I). Anyway, you would think that if you're sick you would know not to touch a newborn!!

BTW Kris It's good to know someone else's stomach didn't go down after the birth. I was trying to remember with my older ds's. As for the guy - what an idiot!

We did take the girls out and it went great,one lady was a little too close but I can deal with it.

Audra- What a clueless woman, Sometimes I would love to know what are you thinking? Why must you touch a newborn? My bil came over yesterday for easter, sure enough 1) he is drinking beers, playing videos games, who knows where his hands have been, then he kept touching my sons hand I freaked nicely and said you really shouldnt touch ANY babies hands they put them in there mouth. He said " oooo" and left at that and walked away I took a baby wipe and clean off the babies hands.

Kris- My stomach is still here, I figured it took 8 months
to get here I cant expect it to leave so fast. That guy is a jerk.

The boys are still up within 2hrs eating like they havent eaten in ages. UUGGHHH..LOL. I just am glad my dd and nyfd are off from school to help me a little for the next week. So I can get some sleep.

Barbara I know - it boggles the mind - I *never* touch such little babies without washing my hands and asking first. Found out today that someone in the school district has whooping cough. I'm a little concerned as we have friends whose newborn nearly died from getting this. Decided I'm not taking the baby out much until the 2 mo shots. I was trying to figure how to do the kids activities and to my surprise my dh said he;ll take our older ds to the night time Tae Kwon Do (I usually take him in the afternoon) after work. I can bring the younger one with the baby earlier in the day when there is hardly anyone there.

Mary Kay Emma's first Easter went well. I was glad that we only had the grandparents as guests at our house - not too stressful and that the grandmothers prepared the meal. Did you end up going to church?

Audra we did the same thing. Both sets of grandparents invited us over and I told both that we were staying home. Then one set said that they would come and bring the food, I said sounds good! It was nice. My dad is visiting so we had him, the grandparents, and aunt and a cousin over.
