I am organizing a birthday party for a kid for the first time..I am having a very hard time deciding on party favors.
What kind of party favors are available. What is the norm? Also I have couple of teenagers in the party too around 15-16 and 17..what should I give them.

I would definitely appreciate some suggestions.

How old is the birthday child? You might want to check out Oriental Trading Company- they sell all sorts of party supplies/favors at very reasonable prices.

Is there a certain theme you're thinking of? My best friend and I are currently planning her son's 2nd birthday party. He really likes Bob the Builder right now, so that's gonna be his party theme. We're getting construction hats for the kids ($5.99/dozen), little 1 oz bubbles, Bob the Builder blowouts, some candy, and we're gonna print out Bob the Builder coloring pages and get some cheap packs of crayons ($6.29/dozen).

That's an awesome theme! There's so much you can do with it! Maybe some animal masks for the guests? Oriental Trading has assorted foam animal masks for $5.99/dozen. They also have jungle animal clappers/noisemakers, bubbles (24 for $6.99!), zoo animal coloring sets (4-pk crayons and 3.5" 20pg coloring book - $4.99/dz), mini (7") animal print inflatable beach balls ($5.99/dz), and maybe some assorted, age-appropriate treats or something from the grocery store? Some animal stickers might also be a cute idea.

We are doing a monkey themed party for Jackson and Oriental trading company has a ton of things at great prices...i think they even have pinatas!

Ok..I have tons of teenagers in the birthday party. What favors does one give to a 17 year old boy and 16 year old girl?

We are having a Luau theme for Madison's first birthday. We are handing out leis to all guest and then the favors will be a sand bucket filled with bubbles, a luau themed beach ball, and fish that squirts water, and then a luau themed rubber ducky. Everything except for the bucket and bubbles were purchased at oriental trading. We are having kids of all ages at the party...but since this is a party for a one year old we are not doing different favors. If the kids feel too old for the favors then I will not force them to take one!

I'm not sure. As a 16+ y/o, I never went to a party where anyone gave out favors to the older kids. I think it's more of a younger kid thing? But maybe you can find some toys that span all sorts of age groups, like bouncy balls or something? Or more complex puzzle-type games?

A friend of mine suggested give chocolates to older children...or maybe nothing.

I went to the website and there are tons of things for jungle and animals. I have picked up lots of stuff. They also have a $15 coupon if ordered before July 6.

I say get silly string as a favor and some kind of squirt animal every age loves them. I am thinking of making tutu's for little girls but if i am going to do them I need to get started.

I bought a sand bucket for each child and filled it with animals crackers, playdough from the dollar section at Michaels, stickers, and a soft ball. We have a friend whose son has an extreme peanut allergy so we limit food in the party favors so he won't feel different.
