Hi-

Kendall is beautiful! I hear you on it breaking your heart, it's really hard knowing that soon I won't be able to meet her demands. The combination of Lily being 3 weeks early, and my chronic pain issues (herniated disks in neck and back; and carpal tunnel); have made breastfeedimg virtually not an option. At least we can feel good knowing we are doing the best for our little ones while we can!

KimBev -

The carpal tunnel is from the pregnancy. I didn't have it before, although, I am prone to nerve problems, due to all the chronic pain issues from the spine. The docs said it would go away after I delivered, but it might take a while. So, we are going on 2 weeks now, and no relief yet...I'm praying for relief soon. All the rest of my swelling went down in my ankles, so it should go down hopefully soon in my hands.

Kari

EVERYONE!!! So happy to see so many people joining us!

HopefulinCO_Thank you sooooo much for the information on her holding her breath, that really does ease my mind a little, even if its scary as all get out in the moment it happens!

My baby girl, Reese, went to the pediatrician today. She has been having issues spitting everything up, both the formula and breastmilk, and she seems like she's in so much pain after she eats and she never seems very happy. I was figuring maybe reflux. The doc said that it sounds like a mix between reflux and possibly colic starting. She told me to start her on Similac Isomil Advanced Soy Formula, mixed with the breastmilk. She also wants me to cut out all dairy from my diet, try it for a week, and see how things go, and if it doesnt get better, then we would try Zantac. So far this evening, she hasnt spit up a single drop, Im so excited!! Also, I have to brag, my chunky monkey is weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces!! She was 9 3 when she was born, 8 11 at two days, 9 11 at two weeks and now 10 5 at a month! Im so happy, especially given how much she's been spitting up, I seriously didnt think that she was even keeping anything down. Wowza!! Im a proud mama!!

Also, as we speak, she is sleeping peacefully in her crib, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! Holy crap today is a great day! Here are some new pics of her, sorry the last one is crappy quality, I took it on my blackberry. But anyways, here she is...enjoy!!

Dont mind the boob shot on this one, I couldnt resist the cheeks!!!

And this one was after bathtime tonight...

ok the chubby cheek boob shot is the best..she looks like shes starving and trying to find the nozzle lol, she is so darn cute...you look ecstatic! what a doll!

Kari: thanks so much for the info on the carpal tunnel..my hands are absolutely killing me at nite and in the am before i wake up the most...ugghh, i sometimes can't believe all that some of us go through to have a baby, but i'd gladly feel this way for the end result...

I too love all of the baby pictures...Keep them coming!!! Well my DH and I are celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary tonight. My parents are coming over to babysit so my Dh and I can have a night out...plus we are staying OVERNIGHT at a hotel!!! I feel a little guilty leaving Kendall for a night, but I really need it. With my Dh working nights and me being like a single parent except for the 6 hours he is up, I need a night to sleep. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my Dh, but also feeling a little sad about leaving

Hi all I am joining in!!! I tried to scan quickly. My little man Holden was born on 9/15/09. He weighed 8lb2.5oz and was 20 inches. When he was 9 days old I had emergency surgery due to a perforated ulcer and was in the hospital for a week. During that time I did pump and dump to try to keep my supply up but Dh had to give him formula. I have been home a little over a week now and have been working on building my supply back up. I mostly pump due to my incision although it is much better. I pump about every 3 hours and get 2oz a pumping session (up from 1 oz a week ago) but my little man is now eating 3-4oz a feeding so I put in an ounce or 2 of formula with 2 oz of breast milk in his bottles. Do those of you who do formula and breast milk combo mix them? Or do you do separate formula bottles and breast milk bottles? I worry that mixing could upset his tummy or effect the quality of breast milk but I am kind of a chronic worrier anyway so who knows. Okay little man is waking up, gotta go. Pics to come later !!!!
