She said that Kendall didn't want to sleep in her crib so she had her in the bassinett right next to her bed. (Not going to happen tonight!!) I am a little sad...I go back to work in 2 WEEKS!!! It makes me sad to know that I won't be with her all day. Ok...can't think about it or I will start to cry!!!

i'm so glad i get not only the 6wks but in NJ they have 6 wks family leave that is paid also..then my hubby is taking 12 wks off that are all fully paid sick/vacation time he has saved up, so we won't have to put her in daycare until she's about 24 wks old...i'm already dreading it and Olivia isn't born yet

Wow...lucky you!!! Well, my DH works nights so he will be home with her all day, so we don't have to do daycare at all, but I still don't want to leave her. I am a teacher so I am fortunate that I will have a week at Thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas and all summer with her, but I am really dreading leaving her in two weeks. It will NOT be easy.

you're very lucky and i know it's so hard, with my son i had 3 daycares before i settled on one..it's the most difficult thing to trust your little one with people you don't personally know.

Talking about going back to work.....Im seriously dreading it!! Not onlyjust going back to worka nd leaving the ltitle one, but (and I feel like a VERY horrible wife for even thinking this) I work 3rd shift and Dh works 2nd. So he will have her all by himself during the night hours, and Im so worried about that, because he loses his cool and gets frustrated so freaking easily. he really hasnt done much with her up to this point, as he is working and I am not, but starting tomorrow night, we have dubbed it Daddy Bootcamp. He's getting a crash course in taking care of her. Im here to help if ABSOLUTELY needed but he really needs to start getting his hands dirty. I think thats why Im so hell bent on getting a night time/sleep routine in order before I go back. i dont go back until Nov 6th but thats right around the corner! I should trust that his instincts will be fine, but for some reason I dont. Hopefully Daddy Bootcamp goes good and we get these routines down pat so there will not be anything to worry about.

Like I have said in an earlier post, I bought and have read the book happiest baby on the block. I tried out several tips from there tonight. I mastered the perfect swaddle and the 5 S's. I started Reese's bedtime routine at 730 with dim lights, a warm bath, a lotion massage, clean warm pj's, a tight swaddle, a warm bottle/breast, rocking and white noise. I stopped nursing when she stopped eating (vs. letting her fall asleep suckling) and kept up with the white noise. I put her in her crib drowsy but not asleep and sat back down in the rocker to wait it out. She put herself to sleep within 5 minutes (SNORING at that, LOL) and that was at 815, so its been an hour now and not a peep out of her! ( ) For the white noise, I bought the Womb Bear that makes womb noises, and it shuts itself off after 40 minutes, and she seems to LOVE that, I think thats what put her to sleep the rest of the way (it attaches to the crib rail) Anyways, wish me luck! Im expecting her to wake around 1120-1230 for a feeding and hopfully not again untl 5-6. We will see ( ) I will keep you updated!

Hello!! Can I join?!! My sweet Mason Andrew was born on September 11th at 6:38 pm. We had a little bump in the road when he was admitted to Children's Hospital for a high fever, but all they could find was a virus (after 5 spinal taps!). We came home yesterday, and are just trying to get back into a routine. We are exclusively breastfeeding and that is going well.

Mia- I'm so sorry to hear all you have been through!! How are you feeling now?? I didn't get to message you back about your last ultrasound ( I went into labor!), I hope everything turned out okay with your little guys kidneys. Also it is actually recommened to mix breastmilk with formula. Since breastmilk is so easily digested, mixing breastmilk with formula will help breakdown the proteins in the formula and make it easier to digest since formula is a little harder on the stomach. It should only make things better it won't effect your breastmilk at all.

EOE- I need to read/catch up and get to know you all!! I look forward to it though! ALso I have a lot of coupns/vouchers for Enfamil, Similac and Huggies. Most are $5 and I would be happy to send them someones way who could use them! I used to be on a board on babycenter when I had my daughter a couple years back, and we used to trade coupons that we could use, just an idea!

Hey ladies! I have been reading this thread and the summer one but it seems like my LO seems to be a little more on track with this group.

Jo - I swear by the happiest baby on the block! I started following the suggestions when Aida was 3 weeks and now she goes to bed at 10 sleeps until 6 feeds and burps, then back to sleep from 7-10. She will take an afternoon nap in her swing for at least an hour. I have found that a sleep routine is so hard because that means that you have to be in the same routine!

As for work, I started working part-time from home last week and next week I do pt in the office. I have always loved my job but with her it is not the same. She stays home during the day with dh but I still hate missing any moments with her! Although, by working from home I am still the primary care provider even while I am on the clock....i think next week will be a rude awakening for dh!

Hi Ladies! Do you mind if I join you? My babies are technically summer babies since they were born on July 4th, but their adjusted age puts them right in line with all of your little ones...so they are doing the same things at the same times....

Nice to see some of the August/September Mommies on here!!! :-)
