Hey Elishia, how have things been so far since Haydens birth? Is he your first baby? Reese is my first, so all of this is so incredibly new and crazy for me. I will definately have tons of questions, lol. Im in the doubting-my-every-decision stage!

Oh yes, I am most definately a first time mom, and I can feel the stress Its been a rough ride so far, but Im loving it!! Im trying to figure out ways to keep the munchkin happy when she's not eating or sleeping, because right now, if she's not doing one of those, she's crying. Poor little girl never seems happy. But its trial and error, and hopefully we figure it out soon.

Just wanted to say Congratulations to the new mommies! I belong to the Spring 2009 thread, my little guy is 6 months old now. They grow and change so fast, enjoy every minute with yours.

Jo- Blaine was much like your Reese. He either wanted to eat, sleep, or be held. I invested in a Moby Wrap and he loves it. At that age, they really enjoy just being cuddled and kept close to you. I was able to do other things while I held him. It helped SO much.

Ladies, your babies are beautiful!

Yes, Hayden is my first child. Jo I am having the same problem....if he is not eating or sleeping he is crying and wanting to be held. they say you cannot spoil them at this age but i am thinking that is so wrong. He will also sleep a long time if i am holding him but as soon as i set him down his eyes fly open and he starts crying. Frustrating at times. He also is not eating as much as he should be at this point. It is getting better but not up to where he should be.

Wanted to say congrats to all you ladies...this is a great place to come to to talk, ask questions or just simply speak your mind. Look foward to getting to know all of you and enjoying the ride together as our LO's grow so fast.

Littlebean-Im going through the same thing with Reese, she is not eating what everyone/thing says that she should be. She's still gaining weight, so Im trying not to worry too much about it, but it still bothers me. When I finally can get more than 2 ounces in her, she spits it all up. (We are breastfeeding as often as possible, but am having to do some bottles during the day) We started on Enfimil with Lipils and am now trying Enfimil Gentlease, but havent noticed too large of a difference. Im starting to suspect reflux possibly, because she HATES being layed down. The cry she cries when layed down is definately a painful cry. I try to wait 1/2 hour after she eats before laying her down, but nothing is working so far, including gas drops. This little girl is constantly burping and farting, so IDK, If this continues Im going to call the Pediatrician. I agree that Im noticing signs of her being "spoiled" with being held, and I definately do NOT want to start these bad habits. I cant get her to sleep anywhere except in my arms in my bed and thats dangerous and another habit I really want to quit immediately.

We have alot in commen with our Lo's..we started on same formula then he was very gasy, spitting up and projectile vomiting regularly.......so i switched to enfamil gentlease..it has helped alittle i guess, only has projectile vomited one time so far but does spit up alot and yes anything over 2 oz he does the same thing. I just dont get it. I use the gas drops to but really dont think they do to much. As far as laying him down i try to prop him up in his boppy as much as possible so he is not flat.

this sounds like an awesome idea..way back in the day 20 yrs ago when i had my son..everyone told you "not" to hold the baby alot it would "spoil" him or her..that is so not true..i always held my son but they didn't have these awesome slings now...i am definitely investing in one for my Olivia i think they're a wonderful idea..and it's now known that you can't spoil an infant..they only want to feel secure, they've been in the womb for so long, it's a big scary world out here .. and they also like noise..i'm going to get this CD called Super-Soother white noise CD you can find it at The Happiest Baby it claims to add 1-3 hrs to babys nitetime sleep..it's worth a try for $13 good luck everyone!

I did google "how to make your own sling" and up popped this youtube video....its worth a try I guess, right?

LITTLEBEAN- I did find that when Reese is being especially fussy and wont calm, if I lay her belly down across my lap and pat her back, it does seem to soothe her most of the time. It might be worth a shot with your LO. Im so happy to have someone that is going through the same stuff to bounce ideas and advice off of

Hi! I am Wendy- I gave birth to Jack- my first- on September 15- so he is 3 weeks old! We did IVF and I was induced at 38 weeks because of some high blood pressures. He was a little munchkin- 6lb2oz and 18inches, but is growing like crazy now. We too are having sleep problems- he is still nocturnal and is basically wide awake all night long. Some nights he is calm, but some nights it escalates to screaming. He needs to eat every 2 hours like clockwork, though we did get our first 3 hour stretch last night. Hopefully we figure it all out soon! So far I am BF-ing, with my dh giving him one bottle of pumped milk a day. Anyway, looking forward to sharing this crazy motherhood journey with you guys!!!
