Mandy didn't sleep thru the night until she was 2 years old and even then no matter how late you put her down she was up by 5am. Nothing ever worked even sleeping with me...all that did was start a nasty habit I had a hard time breaking. She wasn't a napper either so no break during the day. I am worried this new one will be like that too (we were too blessed with Tristan sleeping thru the night at 6 weeks so we are not counting on that again) so it is great to see the suggestions.

I believe in CIO...even after T started sleeping thru the night he would have a few days where he didn't want to go to bed and we would let him CIO and he would put himself to sleep.

Have you tried white noise? How about a crib wedge to elevate it a little...it helps with breathing?

I found that moving DS into his own room helped him sleep through the night. He used to hate his crib but would sleep in a bassinet. So I moved the bassinet from our room to his and let him sleep in that for a few weeks. After about 2 weeks of letting him sleep in his room, alone and in the bassinet, I moved him to his crib and he slept through the night and has ever night since. He was around 6-7 months when I did that. I should also note that he had really bad reflux and would only sleep in his car seat for the first 4 months of his life too - so know you're not alone with sleeping issues.

Hang in there! It could be that your son just isn't ready for CIO yet. But I do highly recommend moving him to his own room - he won't hear you at night, which might help you both.
