I had to do the same thing. We got the sod and fancy irrigation system with our house. We bought it pre-construction only to find out the reclaimed water wasn't set up yet so we paid way too much and still had to run around moving sprinklers.

This makes me feel better....off to move right now so I'll be soaked but the sun should bake it off by the time I get back to the porch so no worries. I've already insulted the 'hood w/ nekked baby in blow up pool in front yard, why not a wet t-shirt contest? Like there is anything to see but still.

He doesn't understand this forum and my invovlement. He is always skeptical about putting so much personal information out there. When I come here for advice he says "they aren't doctors" but I think many of us, after all we've been through, could definitely earn a degree or two in that direction! I wouldn't know what to do without you girls!

OK really off to move but this is what I am SO scared of: the dreaded water restrictions and I know they are coming. Already planning a strategy to hide my watering habits. City limit on domesticated animals is two and we have four so I'm pretty crafty but running a sprinkler 22 hours a day is going to be tough, particularly w/ INSANE neighbor who is an old bitty that calls the police on me any chance she gets. And let me clarify, I don't give her many real chances, last call was for using the leaf blower at TEN O'CLOCK in the morning (which I did to be nice b/c I know she sleeps late); said it was a noise violation b/c of decibals (is that how you spell that?) and time. Cops were like, ummmm, NO YOU FOOL. She called animal control on us for the dogs THE DAY WE MOVED IN. Animal control pulled up the same time as the moving truck but that's a story for later, must move sprinkler and C is due to wake any second. Please, no restrictions...I'll be out there dumping C's bath water and collecting all the shower water, uggg.

Angela, where do you live? I now live in New Orleans(moved her almost a year ago). It has been really hot and very high humidity here too, but it really doesn't bother me too much. I would rather have hot and humid summers over cold, snowy, and icy winters. I grew up in the Houston area so I know full well about 100% humidity.

I live in Orlando, FL. I know it shouldn't be that bad but it has been horrible the past few years. I'm sure you know a thing or two about hurricanes. They are already running news reports on preparing for this season. I just don't know if I can handle 3 in a row like 2004.

I just bought a car with a roof rack just in case so we can fit the baby and 2 dogs in the car and our stuff on top. Ahhh, the SUNSHINE STATE!

I came to the concrete jungle from Wilmington, NC aka, Hurricane Alley and was there from Fran on so I hear ya; back in the days when we were young and stupid and single and not parents we would throw the big hurricane parties (I was also living in Charleston for Hugo) but by like the third one in a season, enough already. I'm a hurricane magnet so Robin, watch out, this will be the year...
