Holy cow!! He's huge! My arm and shoulder are killing me and AJ is not even as heavy as AC!

What do you do with him when you go shopping? Does he sit in a shopping cart well for you?

WOW you ladies took Megsc's directions very seriously. Nothing is going on here? At least I now have a chance to catch up. No vacation for me either just working and trying to sneak in online tours of houses in Kansas.

Robin- Alex is definitely a Big boy!!! There is no way you can carry him and 2 little ones. At least you have a healthy boy there. He is 2 weeks older than Gianni and at G's last visit last week he was 29 inches and 21lbs. He isn't my chunker anymore. He is starting to get taller and thinner. They grow up WAY too fast.

Does anyone have advice on a 3meal a day feeding schedule? The ped recommended adding another serving of solids and I feel like all I do is chase him around trying to feed him lately.

Hope all is well with each of you.

We do:

breakfast- cereal & fruit
lunch- cereal, fruit (sometimes), and a veggie
dinner- cereal or yogurt and veggie "dinner" (I buy earth's best baby food & try to get some of the veggies/grain mixed ones)

We're having some gagging/puking issues with finger foods here and will be talking to the pedi about that this week.

Thanks for the info, sorry about the gagging/puking that can't be fun.

I've got another question though. Where do you fit in bottles? Gianni is still breastfeeding but I feed him 2 or 3 times a day and at school he gets 2 or 3 6oz. bottles. Don't know why I am stressing so much about this but I am trying to get him on a schedule. Lately he just doesn't seem interested in eating and I have to offer it a few times before he will sit still long enough to eat.

Thanks again.

I know...it gets to the point where it feels like your entire day is planning feedings. I've been trying to give him his bottles before his food. For example:

7:00 am- 7 oz. bottle
8:30 am- breakfast
11:00am- 6 oz. bottle
12:30pm- lunch
2:30 pm- 6 oz bottle
5:00pm- 4 oz bottle & dinner at 5:30ish
7:00- 6 oz bottle
7:30- bedtime

of course, this is not set in stone & I try to follow his cues. I've also been giving him water (in a sippy cup!) at his meals.

I am glad to hear that and know he is such a healthy growing boy. My ped told me he should not have more than 20-24 ozs. of breastmilk a day because he will become anemic and he should have 3 feedings of fruit/vegetable and/or cereal a day. I have been looking all over for guidelines as to how much and when.

I am sure I am overthinking it and maybe she made that suggestion because he is breastfed but it totally made me feel like I am doing something wrong. He didn't gain as much last appt. and went from 96th percentile down to 89th percentile. But he is getting so tall that he is still normal, I think sometimes too much weight (no pun intended) is put into numbers. He is just such an active little boy he would rather be moving than sitting and eating. I am beginning to think about weaning as well because he has totally lost interest. He gets so easily distracted...sorry for the TMI visual about to come...but I spend my weekends shoving my boobs in his face in hopes he will eat.

Did you ever venture out alone with him? What if you had to go to the grocery store (or "food" store) for a lot of stuff that won't fit in the stroller basket? I'm just trying to figure out how to do it (you would never know I have a 4 yr old...I guess I never left the house???). I took both boys to the store the other day for a few things (to make dirt ) and I was trying to hold on to Alex so he did not tip over, my 4 yr old was standing on the end of cart making it very hard to steer, and I was trying to get things off the shelf all at the same time. It was a disaster!
