Here are some girls names........Besides Grace and Kate (obviously!), Emma, Madeline, Stella, Julia, Natalie, Anna, Anne.

Does I want something ethnic? I forget, is she Russian? I had a student one time from Russia and her name was Yulia but they "Americanized" it to Julia.

This is fun!! Do we win a prize if you use a name we suggest?!?!

Robin -

LP's "girl name" was Alexandra . . . . . but I'm guessing that would be sort of silly to have an Alexander and an Alexandra - and they aren't even the twins, lol!

I do know someone who named their B/G twins Alex and Alexis. Not my cup of tea . . . . . . .

I also like Alex for a boy, but would only do Alex, not Alexander, b/c Alexander is too big to go with Paul.

Amen we have 20 more week to figure this out!

[quote=AMKD]You and I are on the same page - and I LOVE the name Kate - was on our girl's list.

Don't you hate it when a name is ruined for you? Let me tell you, working in the field of education ruins TONS of names!!

Paul was actually my #1 choice for a boys name but my DH wasn't convinced because it is my brother's name. I understood even though I know my brother will probably never name a son after himself, but you never know.

Do you also think about how the name can be shortened? We loved the name Anthony but were not crazy about Tony. Dominic, but don't like Dom, Vincent but don't like Vince or God forbid Vincy!! That's how Joseph won. Joseph and Joe are great for a grown man and Joey is cute and not annoying for a little boy. There, it's decided. He will be called Joseph!

Another factor to consider - the name shortening! Joseph is a definite contender. Was for LP, too, until BO threw LP out there.

Like the name, but why the 'h' in the middle? Not being snarky, just don't see it that way much.

I think Nichole with an H is perfect. My friends were going to use Michael James for their little boy but decided on James Austin instead. For them it was like using three first names either way they went as their last name is Ross. Right now I'm really loving Bethany and Emma for girls - don't ask me why!

I like Joseph and the fact that it can be shortened a couple of ways for when he's young. Joey as a baby, Joe as a teenager and Joseph in the professional world!

Girls name - my OB's wife is having a baby girl next week and they are naming her Lila. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

I don't know what is wrong with celebrities these days. I'm just so not into those bizarre names. I understand wanting to be unique but come on!

Right now the big "girl" name around here is Nevaeh which is Heaven spelled backwards. Three years ago when I worked for Crisis Pregnancy Centers the director's granddaugther's name was Nevaeh Tnes which is Heaven Sent backwards. I thought it was neat but definitely not for me. Within the last four weeks there have been 6 Nevaeh's in the baby announcement section!

I like girl names you can shorten too: Abigail (Abby), Allison (Ally), Bethany (Beth), Elizabeth (Beth or Libby), etc.
