Elsa - get the mobile! What kind is it? LP LOVED his mobile. It was a Tiny Love Symphony in Motion like this one:

Good news, Everyone - I took a shower! lol. Just came in from RE's office - got the big ol' hug from my RE and the "Now that you are pregnant . . . . " information. Checkup by the PA and forgot to ask about yesterday's labs, lol. I'll go back the end of the week for blood work (probably Thursday), and I scheduled my first u/s for next Thursday at 1:45pm. WaHoo!! Bring it on, Baby!!

Robin - any word on Irina's next appt or u/s?

Ok, seems like many of you are working - here's my next question . . . . . what do you do? I am a RN and I worked in a hospital for 13 years before leaving to become an FNP. Then I worked in a private practice before getting laid off the day before my ET with LP. At the time I was FREAKED about getting laid off, but people slowly made me realize it was the best thing that happened - now I could just lay around post ET without stressing about work and then I could just concentrate on being pg - which I did. So I have been unemployed now for almost 2 years. I LOVE being home with my LoverBaby and know how fortunate we are, but part of me misses the challenge at work. When I am with my friends and they are talking about their day, I kind of wish I was doing it again, but I know that the minute I got back into it, I would want to come home to LP, so here I am!

Whew - still with me? So, what do you all do for work?

Work

I am a social worker, and I too miss work, but you said it best, the minute you go back I would just end up missing my babies! My toddler does go to school two days a week which really gives me a chance to spend some TRUE QUALITY time with Avery!

Work is over-rated, but I too do miss talking with other adults and having challenges! I told myself today that my challenge really should be getting in shape!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I keep thinking about Curves!

I so wrestled w/ going back to work but a. We bought a house when we moved here thinking we wouldn't be able to have kids ergo I would always be contributing to the mortgage and b. I am SO, SO lucky to have the job that I have, I was scared if I took a year or two off, it wouldn't be there anymore.
I teach at the University here and while I don't have a PhD, I have two master degrees and am eliglble for CPA (didn't register when we moved to SC) so I have the opportunity to teach where many would not (w/o the PhD). The hours are amazing, the schedule is flexible (from semester to semester at least), the pay is good for the amount of work I do (and how much I really, really like going to work, honestly) and working summers is my choice so I went back. I wonder about the "missing the adult" thing but will know shortly since I'm now a SAHWM (stay at home WORKING mom...it is hard work) at least until August. But then again, my "adults" are 18-22 year-olds so I don't know if that really counts...
If I had it to do all over again, knowing what I know now, and I had the confidence that the job would still be there, I would have taken last year off.
Futuremom: isn't it tough being a social worker and seeing some of the stuff I know you do??
AM: you could always go back and work part-time couldn't you...like in 8 years when you're done having kids?

Nothing spectacular here....I'm an Adm. Secretary at a physical therapy clinic. I don't make a ton of $$$ (especially after daycare expenses!), but dh's employer does not offer benefits. So...here I sit (with you gals) for health ins. (basically). I do like my job..I get to interact with the patients & I love my co-workers (well..most of them). I recently applied for a part-time 2nd shift postion at a local hospital...so, we'll see if that goes anywhere. That way I could be home most of the day, but still get benefits.

I've always wanted to go into nursing......

Hmmm, wonder where SHE ended up working...

People make you wonder at times . . . . My cousin was searching for a Nanny and her HB was talking to a potential hire on the phone one day setting up an interview. The potential nanny asked for something to be emailed to her and my cousin's HB said, "Sure, what's your email address?"

BigFatMama@whatever.com

I wonder if she is still waiting for her email . . . . . .

Hmmm, wonder where SHE ended up working...

I LOVE IT! I spend a whole class going through e-mails and then calling voicemails to try to avoid that. it is quite comedic.

To answer what I do...I am the Director of Career Services at an Art and Design school. I have good and bad days here but ultimately I returned for benefits and the fact that I still have $5000 left for IVF and three more retrievals covered by my insurance. But am hoping I am as lucky as you gals to get baby #2 in less than 2 years of trying like the first and hopefully stay home after that.

Got to get back to interviewing with a straight face...

LOL AM!!! That is the exact Mobile my son has I tell ya GREAT minds think alike!!!

I cannot live without it!!!!!! It came in handy so much when he was colic. It was the only 15 minutes I would get where I could take a shower and BREATHE without hearing a screaming kid.

He can now reach the toys and well he began pulling on one while the mobile was on and he burnt out the engine apparently. I RAN to BRU today and YAY they had it so it has been put together and it is now back in his crib. When DH gets home he will drop the matress so Gabe cannot reach it.

Won't be long until you hear the crash boom bang again: C got hers and destroyed it in the time it took me to FLY back in her room to what in the h*** was going on. Now she is stuck w/ her binks but that's her own fault as far as I see it...
