So hey, let's talk due dates (Robin and AMKD will probably ditch us for the due date buddies place):

Are both going to be Valentines Babies, or is my math that bad??

I was never one to think that I'd want to be a stay at home mom. I've been working every day of my life since I was 14. But after having Big Ethan I would give anything to be so comfortable in my finances that I could stay home. I too carry the benefits for our family but my check covers groceries, gas and the sitter's $65 a week (which is way cheap in comparison to others). Thankfully we get great big bonuses twice a year and DH makes good money. But honestly I miss my son so much when I'm here and it seems like he's only awake for an hour after we get home in the evening so I take such joy in our "family time" during the weekends. When/if we are lucky enough to conceive again and things are straight with our finances (after four student loans, two car payments, mortgage, credit debt...need I go on) I'd love to stay at home with the next one. I also know that if I hadn't come back to work, without question, I would still be nursing Ethan. I miss that too. The bonding that we had during that time was priceless. Anyway, to answer what I do, I work in Customer Service for a family owned manufacturing company in my home town. I also do payroll, invoicing, accounts receivables and insurance enrollment. I like to wear many hats!

What I do/did

I love knowing what everyone does. I have been a SAHM since 3 days before Grace was born but before that I was a high school counselor for 7 years. I love my job and miss working but don't plan on going back (to some school district) until Kate is in 1st grade. That'll be a 10 year "maternity" leave!! Yikes!!!

I am a Forensic Accountant (or at least a job-seeking one now lol) and I love what I do. Despite how many kids we have I will always work. We can win the lotto and I will still work. I worked hard for my degree and have been doing this for over 12 years so I'm also very very good at what I do and I'm proud of that. I stopped going for jobs that kept me at the office for 60-70 hour weeks since having Tristan but I don't think I would stop working anytime soon. Don't get me wrong when I first went back I had the luxury of only returning one day a week (for 5 hours) and it was still sooo hard to be away from him (he was 8 weeks when I went back) but I graudually worked up to 4 days a week & I was ok. I still missed him but I knew he was in great hands. Even now I have been home with him this last week and a half so when I do get another job it's gonna be hard to leave him again but I'll get use to it again. I don't do it because I have to I do it cause I like to, My dad always said if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life and most times I feel that way too.

YES, but what's the hardest is watching the parents not wanting to change themselves or their situation.

Hey I had the same mobile and becareful with it, I loved it, but I went in around the year mark or so (I can't really remember) and it was completly torn apart, I am soooo lucky that DS didn't swallow any parts. It was a great mobile, but it could have ended badly!
Did anyone watch Dr. Phil today on "Brat Camp", did you see that kid slap his mom, WOW!

RE-Read

I re-read my post, and I wanted to say this...

I went into DS's room it was after nap time was over and he had been so quite, and on his crib were the pieces spread all over. I still have them becasue I think they are so darn cute, and I thought I might do something with them. I was so shocked to see it torn apart, and I was so happy to see that he hadn't swallowed any! He really didn't go through that phase too much, so I was lucky.
I don't want to scare you too much, but I couldn't belive that it had been taken down so quitely and that it came apart so easliy.

GET OUT! If I go back into practice of any sort, this is SO what I want to do; where you do work? Big four, gov't, what? Or if you tell me you'd have to kill me? That is SO totally cool; tell my students all day that is one the highest demand jobs out there and so few people know how to do it. We aren't even teaching it yet beyond the basic audit b/s and tax etc. and then the firms are teaching after that. SO cool.

Sweet!

Sidebar - what's with the thing where your post has to have so many characters or else it won't post? Like, it wouldn't let me just post "sweet!". I had to add all this to it just to be able to post. What is up with that?

I can't believe it even lasted that long! We had to take ours down months ago because LP was standing in his crib (on the lowest setting) and pulling on it - maybe December? I wish we could have left it up longer - like Elsa said - it was 15 guaranteed minutes of entertainment! We have another that someone got us that only ran about 90 seconds - how annoying!
