Car seat placement

I had brought up a question where the safest location in the car was for the car seat. Well on the news this morning they said that car seats placed in the center reduce injury up to 50% in a collision. Thought I would share and pass on

Take care,
Becky

I almost hate that they come up with these findings because when you have 2 kids you can only put 1 (or neither as I do) in the middle!!

Gosh, I wonder what you do with two - I guess one in the middle and one behind driver's side since I have also heard that is safer since you subconciously protect the side you are on.

My older daughter likes to ride in the middle and that's where she usually sits because she can see better. Kate is on the passenger side because I can reach her that way while I'm driving. With 2 it's really hard because you either have them on both sides or only 1 in the middle.

I don't know what you would do with two either. We just had one car seat on rear passenger side and the other in the middle. I never knew which spot was actually "safer".

We put one carseat on each side, just in case one of us has to get back there, we can sit in the middle and entertain both of them. I've also heard that the middle is the safest spot as well.

the middle is the safest but if you have 2 munchkins they tell you to but the baby closest to the curb because its safe to take the baby out .... this comes from the cops that install our car seats... which u guys should check out because most ppl install them incorrectly ....the state police install them in nj ....but most police stations have atleast one officer the is cert to install them

My SIL always has her youngest behind the drivers side. She has a van with only two seats in the middle row, so this is suppose to be the safest. I too will have my little ones on each side as I don't have a middle seat in the middle row.
