Dylan and Ethan do the same thing then. If Ethan doesn't push the bottle away and takes it then he throws up. But usually he does a lot of arching his back and pushing the bottle away so we know he's done. He's pretty good about that already so it gives me hope for later. Keep us posted on how Dylan's four month appointment goes on Monday!

Mila rolled over THREE TIMES today!!! And, of course, I missed it. But, DH videotaped it. I'm so mad that I missed this milestone. We'll see if she does it again around me.
Maddie decided to be very independent today. When I was feeding her she kept wanting to hold onto her bottle. So, I let go of it and she was playing with it. She literally took it out of her mouth, held it for a little while and then put it back in and start eating again. I was just amazed! Oh, and tomorrow, at our church's vacation bible school they asked us to come. They are doing a skit with a song and they wanted the twins to be a part of it. We're going to perform it in front of the church on Sunday. I can't wait! Our girls are already celebrities...at least in our eyes they are. And, tomorrow we're heading out to the zoo again. It has become our second home and we're still not sick of it. We'll probably go again next week Tuesday. Just thought I'd send a quick update since my last post was so long.

OK...what a day Mila has had! She rolled over for the first time and now she just laughed for the first time! She laughed about five times in row. And we were able to catch both milestones on video. Wow, I'm still in disbelief.
Anyone else reach any milestones recently?

Hello everyone!!!!!!
Jenn, I was SO happy to find this thread, thank you for creating it! ![]() I have not had the chance to read everything... Life with twins is BUSY BUSY BUSY!!! but I am glad to see everyone doing so well and I just wanted to droop by and say hello. I am not sure how often I will be able to write some lines, but I promise to be here as often as I can... I love you all ladies very much and I hope you are all having a wonderful day! ![]() |

Nala - so good to see you. Can you believe Joshua and Michelle are already 5 months old! I'm sure life with them is busy but wonderful. Do update us when you can, we need to see some recent pictures too!
Anna - wow, go Mila! What a day for her indeed. Can you share the videos with us? Ethan still hasn't rolled over back to belly yet. He gets so close but can't get his arm out of the way. He twists and turns in so many directions but he's having fun with it. He's grabbing his feet and legs now, blowing lots of raspberries and took his first 8 ounce bottle yesterday. However, he hadn't had a bottle since 1:30 and it was 7:30 so that might be a big factor in the extra ounces. Only time will tell!

Nala it is nice to hear from you. I hope you can chat more often. But, I definitely know how busy it can be with twins. Would love to hear more updates from you.
Jen, sorry but couldn't figure out how to download the video from our camcorder. How exciting that Ethan found his feet! I keep trying to have the girls grab their feet, but they really don't have an interest yet. And blowing raspberries are always fun to watch. Mila did it once, but I don't really think she understood what she was doing. Well, today we practiced our skit with the vacation bible school. The girls will look so cute! Then, we headed off to Olive Garden. Haven't really eaten out in a while and the girls didn't fuss one bit. They were just talking away to anyone that would listen. Then, we finished the day with our usual zoo outing. I'm exhausted! DH works Fri, Sat and Sun and then I'm back to work on Monday. I joke that I actually have more energy at the end of a day when I worked then at the end of a day when I watched the girls all day. They can really tire me out. I hope all of you have a great weekend!

Hey girls, I am back from the beach. We had a great time though I will say it was work. I missed DH's help terribly. My parents were there to help me but it is just not the same. I'm sure you girls know what I mean. Basically it was still the same work that comes with having 2 babies but at least a change of scenery. I got to go to the pool and ocean some and we had really great food and nice weather. I am going to try and post some pictures this afternoon.
Wannabemom- I don't really have a lot of advice for how to get them to take more. Mine just kinda did. As a matter of fact yesterday Avery was seriously mad when she was done with her bottle and it was 8 ounces! I fixed her 3 more ounces and prayed she didn't have a tummy ache and thank goodness she didn't. Nala - I am so happy to hear from you! You definitely need to put some new pics up. I have been checking your myspace page and haven't seen any there either. ![]() Anna- You have got to start taking some pictures! You are going to be sorry if you don't. I can already think of pictures that I meant to take when they were itty bitty and didn't do it. I will say though that I haven't even started a baby book. Everyone thinks I should get a twins book and thats not what I want to do. I want to get two individual books. If I was a twin I would be pretty upset if the only baby book was for both me and my sister. Wouldn't you? Laci and Jen- How are your babies doing?? Oh, Congrats to Carson and Mila for rolling over too!

Laurie, glad you enjoyed your change of scenary, sometimes that's enough! The girls look super cute in their skirts. Don't worry that they weren't interested in smiling. Are you getting the looks that I get from Ethan that seem to scream "mom, enough with the camera already." Ethan is doing good. He had an issue last week where Thursday he started to break out a bit, what looks like little hives but not quite and a tiny rash but neither lasted long they would just pop back up and go away. So I cut out his sweet potatoes in case it was a food allergy and he still had them at least three times a day so his doctor says it's just a heat rash kind of thing. He does get hot very easily and does have sensitive skin like his dad so who knows. However, my MIL did tell me yesterday that DH had a sensitivity to the "orange" foods because of caritan (or however you spell it) so she went to fruits and introduced the vegetables a little later. After four days of no vegetable he was still doing the same thing so it's not the sweet potatoes. And knock on wood - we didn't have any teething fits this weekend. He had a very good weekend, very happy boy and got lots of sleep - he must be growing again!

Hello Ladies!!!! It feels so nice to be back... I know a lot of you can relate to me and understand the craziness that life is with twins, I will try to log in and be present in the forum as much as I can.
Jenn, Ethan looks AMAZING!!! He is SO CUTE!!!! Did you start him with fruits already? are you making his food at home? Laurie, I haven't been good with posting pictures of the babies... We have been busy (as you can imagine) and I have been lazy... : ) Your girls look ADORABLE, I love the picture! Im glad to hear you went with them to the beach and to swim. My parents have a pool and I am planning on taking them there pretty soon. Are they sleeping the night already? Ann, its so nice to hear from you too! Your girls are super cute... and they are celebrities already!!! : ) I would love to see more pictures of them. I am doing really well and there are many things going on. Michelle and Joshua HATED their cereals so we just skipped the cereal part and went straight to fruits... so far they have just tried banana but they seem to like it. They don't eat much, but they are getting used to the spoon and the solid food. They are very active and very strong, they both turn over from belly to back all the time and they spend a lot of the time during the day awake and doing different things. It is amazing to watch them interact together... I posted a picture of them that I took on Sunday (they turned 5 months old that day) I hope you like it! They are still not sleeping the night... Michelle is pretty good and can go for 6 hours or so but Josh is another story, he wakes up every 3 or 4 hours and I don't know what to do... any suggestions? Well, I hope you are all having a wonderful week... sorry for the long post but there are many things that I want to tell you all! : ) |

Laurie, it must have been nice to get away for a little while even if it still meant work with the girls. I don't know if I could do a trip without DH. I can't wait to see pics of your trip. I love the girls in their dresses...adorable! I have a separate baby book for each child. It is double the work, but I know they will enjoy their own, individual baby book. I've slacked a little on keeping track of everything. I'm going to have to look through and see what dates I need to remember. I know it asks when they first rolled over, when they first laughed and so on.
Jen, how is Ethan's skin doing now? Does it seem to bother him at all? Hopefully, it clears up soon. I'm glad his teething at least seems to be better. Nala, I love the pics! They are just precious! I love their cheeks!! Perfect for pinching. I admit I have an addiction to playing with my girls cheeks. With the sleeping, I know my girls like the oatmeal and it seems to help them sleep through the night. They eat the same amount in their bottle and then another two ounces are in their oatmeal. I think that really fills them up to sleep well through the night. Our girls have gotten really good at night now. Last night was our best night so far. They go to sleep around 8:30 p.m. Mila fussed at around 3:30 a.m., but once we swaddled her back up she went right back to sleep. Then, they didn't wake up until 7 a.m. for a feeding! I can't believe the difference it has been lately. I've actually been getting 8 hours of sleep a night for the past week! Ugh, it feels great. I have a ton more energy and the girls seem happier during the day as well. Well, on my way out to Red Lobster to meet up with some old friends from high school.

Oh Anna, I am so jealous of you!!!! 8 hours of sleep!!!!! and your girls are a month younger than mine... I know every baby is different, I am just tired and would love to be able to sleep at night. The Doctor told me to just let them cry, but I can't do that... I guess I just have to give them a little more time. Do you give them the oatmeal with a spoon? My babies have no problems with the spoon, they just HATE the cereal, any type... They actually start almost throwing up every time we try to give it to them! (its actually pretty funny)
Laurie, I also have 2 different books for each baby, Im making them also a scrapbook to each one with all their main pictures and events I feel like that way everyone has their own stuff and I like treating them as individuals and not all the time as "twins". Has anyone heard from Evita? and Elizabeth? |

Nala, I have to say that it would be really hard for me to just let them cry. We've been blest that our girls go right to bed when you put them in their cribs. Of course, I normally rock them to get them close to falling asleep, but they basically fall asleep on their own and don't make a peep. It really took awhile to get to this point though. They were very fussy at night for quite some time. Just about a couple of weeks ago is when they decided to sleep better. We use to have to do a feeding at 3 a.m. and a month before that we were doing 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. feedings. Now, they don't need a feeding at all at night which is so nice. I'm sure Michelle and Joshua will come around soon and you'll be able to sleep again. How much sleep are you able to get a night? Are you at least able to nap during the day?
We feed the girls oatmeal with a spoon. They love it! They now open their mouth as soon as they see the spoon. And, they look so cute as they're chewing their oatmeal. We started it pretty runny where it would just run down the back of their mouth. Now, its chunky to where they kinda need to chew a little. But, you said your little ones are okay with the fruit? I think I've heard others talk about how their little one's didn't like the rice cereal or oatmeal and they couldn't start feedings until about 6 months. It all just depends on the child, like you said. I haven't heard from Evita in quite some time. I hope all is okay with her.
