Your right Laci...and the good thing is that luckily they only live about 5 miles from us so that definitely makes it better too. As far as next weekend, that is a different story. I won't believe we are going until we actually get in the car and go.

Wow Laurie, sounds like you are in for a wonderful weekend for your birthday. Enjoy yourself. Using this weekend as a trial run is a great idea. I still haven't hit that point of letting Ethan stay overnight anywhere yet but I'm sure it'll come in time. Every time I start to think about it I almost cry, so I stop myself. I joke with my mom that maybe she can watch him when he's 2!

Wow Anna, a four hour nap! I don't think Ethan's done that ever. So how did she sleep? Ethan was up at 5 a.m. this morning and took two cat naps before we headed off to church then slept for an hour after we got home. We are starting carrots tomorrow so I'll be sure to note that the carrots stain. I know the sweet potatoes stained one of his bibs but not his spoons.

Jen, Mila actually went to bed about an hour after her 7p.m. feeding, got up for a 6a.m. feeding and slept in until 8:30 this morning. She must be really growing or something because I was really surprised she slept that much. Especially after such a big nap right before bed.
Good luck with the carrots! I'm sure he'll enjoy them. The girls have a few more days on the carrots and then will be moving on to squash. I'm not to sure about that. How was everyone's weekend? I was home with the girls all weekend. Mila loves to scream at the top of her lungs now...she's moved on from blowing raspberries. She also loves to go from sitting to standing whenever she grabs on to our hands. Maddie is finally starting to really play with all her toys. She loves to grab her teddy bear and explore rattles and her squishy ball. I have been taking pics and will definitely post them some time this week. I'm currently working on a pic collage for my dad from the girls since he will be turning 65 and we're celebrating it next weekend. So, I'll post some of those pics soon.

Anna, funny you mentioned Mila screaming at the top of her lungs - Ethan started that Saturday too. I kept thinking - what is going on! But he just wanted to make noise. He went through a sleeping spurt about a week and a half ago too. I couldn't tell whether it was a growth spurt or because of his teeth since I did notice the third and fourth buds after that! We haven't tried squash yet either so you'll have to let me know how that goes. Josh's mom said he had trouble with the orange foods at first so I opted to go ahead with the greens and give him a few more weeks before the oranges again. So it'll be carrots then squash and then he'll have had all his veggies. Luckily he loves food so he's not showing any signs of disliking them, just the first day of a new taste.

New pictures
So Saturday was our first televised Colts game of the preseason so as a family we made sure we were dressed in our Colts Pride. This outfit was bought for Ethan last Thanksgiving, just after we found out he was a boy! The booties didn't fit but everything else did. And I can't NOT include the picture of him in his 12 month old spider-man jammies. Yes you read right, 12 months! My little guy isn't even 5 months yet. How on earth am I going to keep up........also see if you can tell how tall he is by where his head sits in relation to the top of the love seat.

Hello Ladies!!!
I am sorry I have been away, Last week I had both babies with a pretty bad cold... : ( Thankfully they are doing much better and things are almost back to normal. I don't know why, but we also had 2 TERRIBLE nights with Josh, he woke up every 45 minutes!!!! nothing was wrong, his diaper was clean, he was not hungry and it had nothing to do with his teething... I don't know what it was but the whole weekend I was EXHAUSTED! Happy B-day Laurie!!! we are all looking forward to hear how the weekend went... Its funny because DH and I had planned to go away from tomorrow to Thursday to a resort in Palms Springs, but I canceled everything because I still didn't feel ready to leave the babies with my mom... Im sure you had a great time! Its funny to hear that all your babies are being loud, Michelle and Josh started a few days a go to play with their voices and the scream a lot lately, just as a game... they yell and then they laugh, its really funny to watch them. So I am already giving them 3 meals a day. Every morning (around 9) I give them a fruit (mainly apple or pear and banana) which they LOVE. in the afternoon (around 1) I give them a veggie, they already tried and LOVE carrots and zucchini, I will start them also with sweet potato and peas in the next few days (I am making the veggies at home). And at night (around 6) I give them a gruit and some of their rice cereal that now they seem to like. They are really liking the food and I am happy its going really smooth. They both still take an average of around 30 oz. a day of their formulas and Im hoping the food will make them fill fuller and they will sleep for longer at night... we'll see... I CAN'T wait for them to sleep a little more, its driving me a little crazy.... Jenn, the pictures are ADORABLE!!! my babies are also wearing size 9 months or 12 months... They are so big already! Sorry for the long post, I hope everyone is having a great day! |

Jen, I just can't believe that Ethan has grown so fast! Wow, just looking at him sitting up so nice on the couch, he looks like he's at least a year old! I just think about him compared to Maddie, who has just FINALLY started growing out of the newborn sizes. She is finally, officially, in the 0-3 month clothes! Oh, and I'm gonna have to "poo poo" the colts outfit. Only because nothing looks better than the green & gold...he he. I have been thinking about getting the girls their Packers gear and we may make it our mission to get that done this weekend.
Nala, its nice to hear from you. It is so hard when they get sick at the same time, isn't it? I think our girls both got sick along with DH and I when the girls were just 2 1/2 months old. Ugh! I don't look forward to that happening again. It must be so cute seeing your two screaming at each other. Maddie hasn't gotten the screaming yet, she's still blowing her raspberries.

Nala, wow - your twins are as big as my stinker bean - that's awesome! Sorry to hear that Joshua had a rough couple of nights. Hopefully it was just a phase and he's better now. Ethan is eating twice a day and taking 36 ounces still. Tonight he was a haus! He ate his cereal, his first jar of carrots (practically liked it clean) and a whole jar of bananas. He's never eaten that much in a setting but he acted like he was starving and just kept helping me shovel it in!
Anna, I keep telling people that if they don't like the Colts gear they are more then welcome to send us their pride colors and we'll put him in it. He's not partial to the Colts right now - just us.

Hey girls,
Friday night went great! My parents did a great job I must say. They stuck to the schedule, managed to get them to take all their bottles and managed to keep them asleep and not feed them until 8am! I was impressed because Presley can get a little rowdy by 6 or 6:30 and I expected that if she did they might not be able to handle her but they did really good. I picked them up around 10am. My b-day is actually tomorrow and Friday is when we leave to go to the beach but I told DH last night I just didn't know if we needed to go. We had a little drama last night and we were both quite adjatated. My mother called me about 10pm and told me that she had just gotten off the phone with DH's mother and that DH's mother had called her to "tell" her that they were coming down on Saturday to take care of the babies!?!? WTH? DH mentioned it to her like 2 weeks ago and she said that she wanted to "see how it went" with my parents before she kept them. She can't handle it is the problem. (All this from the woman who has said so many times that she was coming down to stay with them all day to give us a break, she was going to spend the night and take care of them, yada, yada, yada.....) So my Mom is completely put on the spot and didn't know what to say so she was just like "okay.....". DH was furious and so was I for that matter but I tried to stay calm. I can't believe that she just assumed that we would be okay with this and that she just bypassed us and called my mother without consulting with DH or I. I mean who does that??? Plus, she isn't offering to keep them either night, she is just going to show up when it is convienent for them on Saturday and stay however long she wants and go home when they get ready. DH said their was no way in hell that she was doing that. He doesn't think that it is fair to my parents and said if she is going to keep them she needs to plan on spending one of the nights. Not to mention (and I am not trying to be ugly but it is unfortunately true) she doesn't "know" my kids. She has probably been around them 10 times (maybe 12) since they were born. We live about 1 hour and a half away from each other so we don't see them too much. That is another thing DH is upset about because he feels like when his own brothers son was born his mother visited a lot more. So my poor mom is like "I don't even know whether I am supposed to tell you or not" and I was like "Are you kidding me?? Is she stupid? She knows that we talk EVERY day!" "How can she put you in a position like that and then you are the one who ends up telling us this is what she wants to do instead of her??" Needless to say, we may not even be going. I think it is more trouble that it is worth (we are going to the beach Sept. 3rd already) and this is just too much drama. DH was disapointed but I told him it may just be too much to leave them for that long. I haven't been 100 percent about it anyway. So maybe it will just be a quiet day tomorrow and we can go out to eat tomorrow night somewhere.

Wow, that's crazy stuff there. Why is there always such drama? I deal with it too unfortunately. But I am so glad that the girls did well on their first overnight to grandma's. How did mom do?!

Laurie - Just had to wish my local buddy a happy birthday!! I SO owe you and the girls a visit. Huge apologies from me. Our life has just been crazy these past few months with all sorts of family drama. I'm sorry about the stress with the ILs. I hope everything works out but I'm very glad you and dh got to spend the weekend together. Your parents are incredibly generous with their time and support. My ILs don't even call forget about ever even meeting Aiden and, while my parents are very sweet when I visit them with Aiden, they never take him either. Anyway, don't let all the drama spoil your birthday tomorrow!! I'll be thinking of you.

Awe, thank you Peach! I appreciate that. It's the last year of the 20's! We need to plan something really soon! Even if you don't come all the way out here we could meet at Stonecrest or something. I will call you and we will figure it out! Do you have any new pics of Aiden? I'm sure you have posted some on the Jan. thread. I will pop over and look!
