Hello ladies!
Jen, wonderful thread!! I wish more march due dates join this thread and post their updates. Anna, so nice to hear from you about yourself and the girls. I wish you could post some new pictures also. On thrusday, we went in for Eva's 10 week appt. She is perfect measuring in the normal range. She got her vaccinations too. Apart from some crankiness now and then, she is a happy baby. We are blessed to have her in our lives.

Evita, even though technically Eva was born in February, the 29th, you can still be a March mommy. Have you guys talked about when you'll celebrate her birthday on years that aren't leap year? I know some who have celebrated on Feb 28th because it's in February but others who chose to celebrate March 1 because there are only 28 days in February and thus the next day (which would be their birthday) would be March 1. So good to hear that Eva is measuring well and did well with her shots. I'm pretty nervous about Ethan's shots on Monday. I have a feeling if he screams, I'll cry.
Parker John, I don't remember teaching you had to post. Seems like I've been on this site forever but I wouldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't have made it without you girls. So many success stories before me gave me great hope. Now I've seen my dream come to life and I hope that I can bring hope to others still trying. Never give up on your dreams, miracles do happen!

Evita, its so nice to hear from you. Sounds like Eva is doing great. Is she smiling and cooing all the time now? Our girls are a little behind in that department being preemies. They just recently started smiling a little more, but Mila is catching on faster than Maddie.
I can't believe how fast the time is flying. I just try and enjoy them being this small as much as I can, since we may not have anymore after this. We do plan on adopting in the future though. DH would really like a son and I don't think my body could handle another c-section. I don't think I ever told you guys my issue with the c-section. I have a heart problem and it seemed to elevate with the surgery. The night after the surgery, I would wake up every 10-15 minutes trying to breathe. I was not breathing as I slept and I would wake up gasping for breath, but yet the drugs made me so tired I couldn't help but keep falling asleep. I was actually scared I wouldn't make it through the night. I don't think I could do that to my girls. I feel like I would be selfish if I tried to have more children knowing that I may not make it to be there for the ones I already have. I don't want to deprive them of their mommy. I'm just glad I got to experience pregnancy just this once in my life. It was all I could have hoped for and more. Sorry girls, I just had to ramble a little. Well, the girls had a great night last night. I got more sleep than I ever have since they've been home. They got up for a feeding about 3:30 a.m. and then at 7:30 a.m. I feel so refreshed. I still can't believe how well I slept.

Yeah Jen...Eva will celebrate her birthday eith on Feb 28 or march 1, we will leave it for her to decide once she grows up! But if you ask me i am a march mommy...have always been since i joined the due date thread
still can't begin to call myself a Feb mom. LOL I was also very scared when i went for Eva's first shots at six weeks - didn't know what to expect - and how she screamed...i started crying myself , the ped said it is an obivious response from a new mother as DH started convincing me that Eva is fine! But i want to tell you that Ethan will scream temporarily and after that he would be fine, so don't worry a bit. Just ask the doc whether the shot will cause fever. If yes, it is better to give tylenol beforehand, ask him. Good luck!Anna, Maddie and Mila will be proud of their mom who have brought them in this world after all the problems. I remember what all you have to go through. It's okay if you dont want to plan another child. I know how much toll it takes on our bodies. I just cant think of it right now. Glad that you shared what happened that night, vent whenever you want. And three cheers for a good last night!! It will get better...Eva sleep schedule is almost formed now. But for the 4 am feed, she sleeps soundly in her crib whole night. She has started cooing a lot and smiles so cutely that sometimes my eyes are filled with tears of joy! What a miracle!

Anna, I don't blame you for feeling like another c-section probably wouldn't be best. After the issues I had with healing, after packing my incision for a full six weeks, I'm not looking forward to another one either. Adoption is a great gift for not only the family but the child as well. Congratulations on a good night. Ethan tends to sleep much better now too. He wakes up around 1:30 and 4:30-5 a.m. for feedings. But we've always had nights when he's slept straight through from about 8-8:30 p.m. - 3:30 a.m. Can't ask for more sometimes.
Evita, I'm definitely not looking forward to shots tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that I'll cry if he screams. I can handle little cries but the big screams get me every time. But I know it needs to be done and we'll both survive.

Well this morning was Ethan's big two month well visit. He is now weighing in at 13 lbs 1 oz (I called 13 pounds too) and is 25 inches long. He is looking great and the doctor said that she could tell he had a good mommy which made me feel good. Then came the shots. I definitely wasn't excited for that part but he did well. He cried, turned every shade of red I could imagine and we had to coax him to breathe again after the first one.....thus causing me to cry...but he's fine. Took us a few minutes to calm him back down and then he just sat quietly in the back of the car on the way to his sitter's house. I instructed her to call if he was too fussy or running a fever. Speaking of, I need to call her and make sure I told her to give him his tylenol every four hours!

Hi EVeryone
i was an april due date buddy but became a march when our twins arrived early...we have b/g twins. it's been okay, our DS has either reflux and/or colic. it's really hard and i have help so i can't imagine it without. i feel really guilty, tired and frustrated. you become a bit of a victim (maybe the wrong word)...i will do or buy anything that will make our DS feel better...and i know it will "get better" but it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. plus i feel a bit robbed after all the IF treatments and saddness, i was thinking i would have a smoother road sometime...i guess at 33 i am still realizing that "life is not fair". our DD is doing great...she has slept through the night twice in the last 3 days. i think our ds keeps her up with his crying, grunting, groaning, moaning so i think we might have to move her to a guest bedroom temporarily, which i was hoping not to do. but the bright side is they are beautiful and amazing...they smiled at us this last week. our dd has been holding her head up for 5 minutes or more, grabbing at objects and doing some cooing...of course, none of it is consistent yet, but they're learning! they were born at 34 weeks, so i expect them to be at the end of the range when developmental timeframes are given. anyone else experiencing colic or reflux with their LOs? this is a good post to keep up on each others development and share tips!

My son has a small case of reflux, it was much worse before but I think since we've been trying everything our peditrician has told us it's helped. First was a change in formula, Ethan was given Similac AR which is more startch and not so much loose liquid. Helps to stay in the tummy better. Also, we are to continue to try and burp him in any position necessary. He's not an easy burper most often! After that we are to keep him upright on our shoulders for at least 20 minutes before laying him down. When we do lay him down the front of his crib mattress needs to be elevated. What we actually did was fold up blankets and then put another big blanket over those so that it created an incline for him. I didn't know what to put under the mattress itself. These things really seem to help. We are now down to only throwing up one to two times a week (if these things are followed, more if they aren't). Belly rubs seemed to help if he seemed colic, he found lots of comfort laying on his stomach on our chests. We actually put him to sleep on his side so that with the sleep positioner he still feels that pressure and still feels like he's being held. He turns himself onto his back when he wants. Ethan normally isn't a fussy baby so I don't think he's colic but we had a few weeks before I came back to work when I wondered if I'd ever be able to sleep without him on my chest again. Of course he still does sleep with me for about an hour or two in the mornings before I get up and get ready for work.
After his shots yesterday my poor little guy was so tired. He took a two hour nap at the sitter's house, got up long enough to take a bottle and was down for another hour. Then when he and I got home he got his bath, took one ounce of formula plus his tylenol and was back out. He slept from 6 p.m. to 3:30 this morning! Goodness baby. While it was nice to have him sleep for that long stretch it would have been nicer if DH and I went down at the same time he did. But no we had to stay up until 10 p.m. watching the season finale of House!

Evita, sounds like Eva is doing great with her sleep schedule. It must really be nice!
Jen, I'm glad you're appt went well. Ethan is such a big boy! It must be so gratifying hearing those comments from the doctor as well. How is Ethan doing after his shots? I hope he didn't develop a fever. It must be nice to have that part over with. akk, I'm glad you joined us. It'll be nice to hear updates on your twins. I have to say that my girls don't have any colic or reflux. I can't imagine what that must be like. Our girls are pretty well behaved. Maddie is a little feisty, but I think she gets bored easily. Mila is still constipated and she is always in pain from that and now she has been having a stuffy nose. I hope she's not getting sick. So, the baptism went really well on Sunday! The girls didn't cry at all and more people showed up then we had planned. They had a great day and it really wore them out. I'll have to get pics up soon. Well, as you know, our 2 month was suppose to be on Monday. But, DH and I decided to catch the flu at the same time on Monday. I still can't hold food down. I don't know what we would do without family here to help us out. MIL and my mom watched the girls yesterday and my mom also stayed overnight and slept with them in the living room. Today SIL took the girls for the day. I've gotten more sleep than I ever could imagine in the last two days, but I really miss my girls. I just hope they don't catch what we have. So, their 2 month appt is now scheduled for tomorrow. I'm hoping to be better by then. I even had to re-schedule an interview, TWICE. I can't imagine what they now think of me. Not the best first impression.

Anna, yuck! I hate the flu. I can't imagine catching the flu now. It must be rough. I have a sinus infection and for me right now that is bad enough. Trying to take care of Ethan when all I want to do is take some strong drugs and fall asleep. I did get his laundry done plus dinner last night. I normally don't even attempt to start either until after DH is home. We kept thinking at any moment Ethan was going to wake up so we didn't lay him in his bed until just after 9. We always lay him on his side now and he's normally rolled onto his back within an hour or two. This morning at 3:30 he was still on his side if that tells you how out of it he was. But he did great. I was expecting a fussy baby and he wasn't. We laughed and played while he was in his little tub, got some smiles this morning even when he was up at 3:30 to eat. Can't beat those baby smiles. Nothing makes me day like those!

OK. I think I actually uploaded some pics for the first time. I hope they turned out okay. Maddie is the smaller of the two. It is really hard to get cute pics of them together. Normally one is at least crying.

Thanks! We love taking pics too. You can see from the middle pic that Mila has her tongue out. She is obsessed with her tongue right now. It is always sticking out in almost all her pics. So cute! Well, I'm still pretty sick, so DH is going with my mom to their two month appt today. I'm definitely not upset that I'm missing the shots, but I love hearing how big they are and how well they're doing and I really want to comfort them after their shots. So, I'm kinda torn about not going.
Do you have any exciting plans with Ethan for the holiday weekend? The weather is suppose to be in the 70's by us, so I'm sure we'll take the girls for quite a few walks. They really enjoy being outside.
