Jen, it must be different now in your household with less animals. I think if we had good options for our pets, we would consider it. But, we don't know of anyone that wants a cat or dog at this time. And, I don't want to give them away to strangers.

Adrienne, glad to hear from you. I'm surprised your doc wants Maddie to eat so much already! Ours told us a breakfast and a dinner. And she's never mentioned starting juice yet. We had our meeting yesterday with the specialist for the girls. They don't qualify...which is great! Their adjusted age is 3 months, so as long as they are at least developing at that level then they're fine. Maddie with her tummy time and muscles are at the three month level. Mila with her interest for toys is at the three month level. Besides that everything is else is at the 5 month level, which is wonderful.

Today the girls are officially 5 months old! The zoo was fun today...I ate way too much food. Let's see...I had crab rangoon, chive fries, cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries. DH had mozzerella sticks, chicken quesidilla and a chicken fajita. I wish I had room for more cuz there was so much to pick from.

My post from one year ago today!

This was what I posted one year ago today girls! I have been thinking about how blessed I am all day long. If I had known then what I was in store for.....God is good!

Quote:
Okay girls.... I am not really going to believe it until I go for an ultrasound but.......drumroll please............I AM PREGNANT!!, I AM PREGNANT!! Yes, that is what I said....I AM PREGNANT!!
I am so completely blessed to have found this website and all the women on it. You girls are the first ones to know. No one even knew that I went to the doctor today. I have the biggest mouth and I can't believe that for 2 weeks I have not told one single person that today was my big day. I absolutely cannot believe this. I was so sure it was negative. When my RE called I asked her if she was sure she was calling the right patient!! Girls, I am just in awe

You know how funny this is...I was thinking the same thing today. I remember I found out after you, but the zoo ala carte must have been later last year. Because I remember last year taking a pregnancy test and seeing those amazing two pink lines. I couldn't wait for that first beta test, so I took what seems like a million of those darn pee tests. The first person we told was DH's sister the next day when we went to the zoo ala carte with her. We went today for zoo ala carte with her today and it just felt so surreal.

God truly is good! We've all been so blessed. One day we'll all have to get together to show off our little miracles.

Adrienne, this is a question I'll be posing at Ethan's six month appointment. I did call because of his increase in appetite but she says it's a growth spurt. I have a cheat sheet chart from Gerber that helps to determine what stage they are in and juice isn't until he's sitting unsupported. So probably a little while longer.

Anna, it's definitely quieter around here without the other two and it still feels empty even though we have one back. But I think without a doubt it was the right decision for us. This house isn't big enough for all of us.

Laurie, it's been a year already. I found out July 17th I was pregnant with Ethan and so to look back on that date was amazing. Still feels like yesterday!

Oh what a day I had...I'll just start by saying something always crazy happens when my father is involved.

As you know, it was my father's 65th b-day. Well, I grew up on a farm, so they have cows and about 20 acres and my dad's new obsession is his mule. Well, he's wild and they are always having problems with him. He gets out all the time and if people try to ride him, they sometimes can't control him. I'm sure you can probably see where this is going. My uncle got on him with his two grandchildren. Well, he's ridden mules before and I think animals know if you are comfortable with them or not. He was fine with my uncle. Then, my cousin decided to take him in the back and ride. Well, next thing my dad knows he sees the mule walking around without my cousin in sight. He goes looking for him and no one can find him. Finally, they see a knee in the grass. My cousin was unconscious...they immediately called 911. Eventually, he gained consciousness and threw up right away. The ambulance took him to the hospital. He seems to be okay. They know he's gonna live, but his leg is really jacked up and he obviously has a concussion. I guess my cousin tried to jump a fence and he fell off and the mule dragged him for a while. Ugh! Well, my cousin has a 9 month old. His sister has three kids, one is also 9 months old. With all the commotion, DH and I became a mini day care while all the family was in the back tending to my cousin. Ugh...so scary! And my dad thought that when the girls were old enough they would ride on the mule! Over my dead body!

I'm just glad the girls were calm because with all the commotion the other kids were worked up and crying. I so had my hands full while trying not to freak out myself over my cousin. Long, long day. I need a vacation.

Hi Everyone,

sorry i have been MIA...it's been a busy summer with the kiddos. we have managed to take 2 12-hour trips...one to PA and one to MI. So our trip to GA will be easy over labor day weekend.

i have been reflecting on last year too...i remember i could only eat broccoli cheddar soup and greek salad from panera for a few weeks...i send DH out in 95 degree heat on the subway (we lived in NYC then) to get this meal for me. he's a trooper.

the kids have been doing great. the ped said i could start solids with emery, but i am not ready to do it yet...mainly because i am waiting to hear what the gastro ped says about Will starting solids at the august 27th appt. i would like them both to start at the same time.

they are both doing great with tummy time and babbling all the time. they love singing so i am going to try to get them into a singing class soon. i think i will have some rollers on my hands soon, but they're still testing those waters....and they both love to sit up and get irritated if they are laying down for too long. so the bumbo has been great.

it's great to see all your updates and hear that everyone is doing so well. i am going to try to figure out how to post pics...i always say that...and i am good with the computer, but for some reason i can 't get the pics small enough for this site.

well, hope you are all enjoying the olympics...loved watching phelps win all those golds.

Oh my goodness - Will and Emery are just too cute. Love the pictures in the pool. I have yet to get Ethan in the pool but am dying to do so. And I have to say this, as you aren't the only mother of b/g twins, but why is it that the boys always have more hair? We have a set of b/g twins at church that are just over a year old and you could cut Eli's hair and make a wig for Annie - he has that much!

Well girls, my baby boy turned 5 months old yesterday...we are inching closer to that half year mark by the day. While the day started off well it ended horribly and with me in tears like I haven't cried since the day I brought him home. He's definitely trying to work those teeth through. He started a screaming fit in between Sunday School and church so I gave him his teething tablets and took him outside where we walked for a while. He had cried so hard and screamed so much that of course it took about a half hour to regulate his breathing again but then he napped and all was better. However, after we got home he had two more pretty much back to back and I felt horrible for him. He didn't finish a single 6 ounce bottle all weekend. I was so afraid of dehydration but his pediatrician assured me what he was getting was enough but if he started to push aside his bottles all together then we'd have to come in. I had called because he ended up with a fever of 101.2 yesterday afternoon. I got in the tub with him with DH supervising and we laid him back in the water (not getting it in his ears) and kept pouring the cool water over him. Then I wanted to feed him his dinner before giving him the Tylenol knowing it would knock him out. That's when the tears started. He was in so much pain and so tired from the fever that he couldn't open his eyes all the way. He did end up falling asleep in the high chair during the feeding and I was so scared, I've never seen him like this before. His eyes were glazed over and he was very spacey yesterday. This morning though he's doing better but I don't know for how long. Poor baby!

The pics of Will and Emery are adorable!! I have not been able to get my pics sized right either, so please share any tips.

Jen - I am so sorry about Ethan. I feel so bad for the poor little guy. I know how stressful it is to have a baby who just does not feel good, and I am so sorry.

Well, Karson is 4 months old today, and exactly one year ago today is when I found out I was pregnant. I just cuddled and kissed him this morning and could not help my tears. DH and I are in awe each day of this precious gift we have been given. Our cup runneth over!!

Laci, that's neat. I found out a year ago on the day Ethan turned 4 months old too. DH loved the fact (when it finally realized it about two months ago) that we gave birth to Ethan exactly 8 months to the day of taking our first HPT. Not only that but his due date was 8 months from the date that I took my second test (7/22 and he was due 3/22).

Amazing how a year passes by so quickly huh? When is his four month appointment scheduled for? I'm interested in seeing the updated stats....you know for our big boy football team!

Here are Ethan's pictures from this weekend. He had on another Colts outfit for Saturday's game. It was a little chilly in the evening. Then him and I before heading out to church yesterday morning. This was supposed to be his 5 month picture but as you can see that glazed over look on his face started early in the morning - I should have known then what kind of day we were in for. Then of course him passed out in his high chair. I always have an extra jar out for him to play with so he doesn't stick his hands in the jar I'm feeding him from. My piglet didn't eat it all - just looks that way. Thankfully his appetite has calmed back down.

DH and I just realized this weekend that he was born exactly 8 months after we took our 1st HPT. It is really neat that it worked out that way. Who would have thought our son's would be born exactly eight months after we found out? While pregnant I thought he was never going to get here, but looking back it has gone by faster than I could have ever imagined. Our pediatrician in on vacation, so our 4 month appointment is not until the 29th. I am excited to see his new stats too, but I am dreading the shots!!

Ethan looks very cute in his Colts gear. DH's first love is OU football, but as far as the NFL he likes several teams. This includes the colts, and we especially like Tony Dungy because he seems to be a good Christian man.
